what use is that! there supposed to hey you will stuff like that arnt they?

Everyone should have a national insurance number, ring the tax office.

Also love the lack of punctuation.

GL with your interview

Your must have an NI number everyone has one. I am also self employed and each month I pay NI by direct debit on my bank statement it shows my NI number as part of the transaction.

Had a similar problem myself a while back.
TLDR version - Had a break in when i was 17 and my NI card got stolen, they don't issue replacement NI cards but if you go through the proper channels you can get given over the phone the number to note down on paper or something.
Problem however is an increasing number of potential employees want to see the NI card or nada, so your out of luck.

Had that problem on 4 interviews when job searching =/

-edit-
Seen that link, i deffo got mine over the phone although it was years ago :p

Why would you ring the Job Centre for that?

Just pull out a letter from HMRC - the ones they tell you to keep. Your NI number will be on it.

surely they could have just printer on headed paper my name and NI number on it

That is what they are meant to do when they get these types of request. Ring back and ask to speak to a supervisor, seems the person you spoke to was not too experienced.

That.

I doubt you're going to be able to get a job if you can't manage something this simple. :(

I hope the interview isn't for a proofreading position. :p
