Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be nicer if you want that size - eta is still early next year though

As far as I can see the Xoom 2 has nothing to make its self-stand out. Then again it has no weak areas either and the IPS screen is nice.

EDIT: Which is better an Super AMOLED Plus or IPS screen?

cheers. Super AMOLED Plus win for me any day of the weak - perfect blacks and viewing angles - lovely colour saturation - should leave a black screen when off so it blends into the bezel.

I think the Xoom 2 looks seriously weak especially when up against the Asus Transformer Prime.

Plus it looks like its been dropped on all four of its corners.

Anything Tegra3 out ? am guessing Tegra3 = quad core?

Tegra 2 is dual core and one of the more unpopular chips that has been out a while. Quad core isn’t automaticity better or faster than dual core. Quad is mostly just for marketing.

EDIT: Above post edited. Tegra 3 is not due till early next year in the UK. I am only aware of two Tablets so far based on it. Both have a nice CPU but the GPU is weak. Transformer 2 and some other tablet I forgot the name off. So far none of the big name tablets are have announced the use of Tegra 3.

I have read some where u can overclock the dual core cpus, if its needed. Is that true?

I might just go tegra2 as it seems plenty

Just be careful with Tegra 2 as it has problems playing some types of video files along with problems with 1080p video and high profile encoded video. You might have to spend time converting your video content to work on a Tegra 2 tablet.

Unless I overclock it, then 1080p should run smoother I think?

Unlikely unless you can get a very large overclock. Some of the 720p videos might play if overclock but not sure all the 1080p videos will work even with an overclock, if that's even possible. I have never heard of anyone overclocking a tablet before and if you can how far can you push it?

you can probably overclock tegra 2 to 1.5ghz. However the reason it doesn't play high profile h.264 (hd mkv's) properly is because it hasn't got a dedicated media processor for that.

Clocking up the processor and trying to play these files will probably result in poor battery life as the processor will be chugging away software decoding instead of hardware decoding. Get the right tab for the job. Simple.

omap 4, exynos and tegra 3 based tabs are fine for this.
