***** The Official Fifa 12 Thread *****

ever since EA took over they slowly killed the series.

no innovation at all, gameplay got worse and worse, they started making it too complicated. i loved the series and really liked Renegade the last version Westwood made.

it was epic an FPS where you needed teamplay in order to win, you needed people staying back and protecting the base whilst others flanked.

omg driving a stealth tank was awesome for sneak rushing, or picking up the sniper rifle as a stealth soldier and then pwning snipers with it.

EA have ruined it and now given it over to another studio, basically admitting they were terrible at making them.

Yep, though I really enjoyed Command & Conquer 3, seeing Kane in high definition was amazing. :D

Red Alert > Red Alert 2 > C&C > Generals > Tiberian Sun > C&C 3 > Red Alert 3 >C&C 4

I cant play any of them on the console :(, i find it very strange because my first rts's were on the pc which i played for years, back in the day of Total Anihilation, Age of empires ect, just cant use a pad with them to save my life.

I'm used to it because I've been playing Command & Conquer on a pad since the Playstation days. It's way easier to play them on a PC though like you say. :)

i cant remember which one it was on the ps1, where you could play a mate using link up, with 2 tv's, 2 consoles and 2 copies of the game.

we would have a 30 min no attacking rule, and you would know when the other guy was attacking as the game suddenly slowed to a crawl as he moved his troops. it was amazing how much power of the ps1 westwood actually managed to use.

there were 3 games on the pc which were epic, Renegade, Tiberian sun and another one, i cant remember which one though, i think it was the one just before tiberian sun.

no other game has matched it's gameplay imo, is age of empires or civilisation any good? ive always wanted another decent strategy game to come out.

im sorry but you cannot beat total anihilation :p, they tried to remake it with supreme commander, but its no way the size of TA, TA was huge, the amount of different units and structures was unreal, that is what the rts's miss these days, the size of the unit and structure base, there would be for example 20-30 different turret defences :D, 4 or 5 different nukes, over 100 different ground units, air units, sea units it was crazy good, these days the rts's are so simple, its 1 nuke and a couple of different defence options, its pathetic compared to TA :D

anyway, off topic much haha :p

Is Neuer like the best keeper in the game? The saves he makes are amazing! Lost to him with my La Liga side, find it funny that Khedira, the cheapest of my CMs, attacks better than Kaka and Rossi. His team was pretty much a Dream Team but had a few bad links.

---------------Neuer-----------------
Ramos--Puyol--Pique--Pepe--Marcelo
-----------Silva----Fabregas----------
-------Sanchez------------Villa-------
-----------------Eto'o----------------

Reckon if I had my EPL or Serie A team I would have spanked his 5 in midfield but Higuain upfront on his own made it too tough.

I'm sure many will argue that Stekelenberg is the best in the game but I disagree. Neuer was sensational when I had him in my German national side and his kicking from hand is absolutely top quality. If your opponent has committed a lot of men to the attack and he makes a save he can kick out of his hand and clear the opposition defence, he's an amazing counter attacking tool. His throwing is fantastic and he's certainly up there with the best shot stoppers in the game. :)

there was a guy on the EA forums who said he had used every keeper in the game and that he rated the top 5 with having

Neuer
Stekelenburg
Cech

cant remmeber who the other two was, but one of them wasn't casillas, as he gets beaten easily with finesse shots.

It was mostly single matches because I had rubbish teams for ages but nowadays it's all tournies unless I don't have time.

Tbh I have never in any of those games played anyone as good as Anksy, Dan or Andy. The standard on here is insanely high considering how many people play, I know Tim and Diva get rolled over by those three (no offence) but I bet you wins more games than you lose online.

I've only played Andy out of those 3. Offence taken!:D

Tried them ALL. By ALL i mean ALL.

1. IF Neuer - by far the best GK in the game, he can literally save/win you games.
2. Stekelenburg - cheap Neuer, still beast.
3. IF Mandanda - very very good overall.
4. Abbiati - spider man, nuff said.
5. Cech - best GK in the BPL, 5th best GK in the game.

WORSE GKs (with high price tags) in the game!

1. Casillas - no it's not a joke and it's not hate, he's terrible. He makes some ridicolous mistakes. Plus he's really short.
2. Julio Cesar - if you're looking for a brazilian GK, go for Helton, trust me. This guy can't catch a ball.
3. IF Malafeev - o,m,g.
4. De Gea - terrible.
5. IF Friedel - overrated.

Agree 100% with this, I've still got my German side you recommended to me when I started playing FIFA. Love that German side it's superb

When I was little me and my cousin used to stay over my grandparents house on weekends, I'd bring my Playstation and he'd bring his, we'd use his copy of Red Alert Retaliation, which was basically Red Alert with the Counterstrike and Aftermath expansions bundled together. Before bed time we'd both build loads of Ore Silo's, loads of Refineries and then in the morning when we woke up we'd have huge amounts of money and there'd be no ore left on the map. Good times. :D

Ah good stuff! The only problem with Germany is that all of the CB's are quite slow! I had to use Tasci and Friedrich in my games as they felt the quickest and most agile. Hummels and Höwedes just don't cut it in my opinion! Left back is a bit weak too, I think I stuck with using Christian Träsch as Schmelzer didn't feel particularly solid. :)

I played a guy who had a German side but he used David Luiz and Hummels as CBs and then Rafinha as a RB. Worked quite well in stopping my attack until he scored a fluke goal and I went up a level to beat him 3-1. My shooting has been so poor lately. 22 shots and 9 on target. :o

Very true although hummel and howedes lack of pace is a concern although I tend to back off and choose my moment to tackle. I have bastions as LB and lahm as pace in case it goes wrong! My biggest issue at the moment is dealing with people dribbling in the pen area!

You tried Valdes? I think Valdes is the best keeper I have tried.

IF Neur, eh eh? Worth getting for my Barca team even though he will get a low chem rating?
