*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Oh god, imagine not being able to play it until the afternoon. That would be terrible.

:p

Too right, you think the days are going slow, imagine sitting around waiting for that countdown! PErsonally i will sleep through until 20mins before, and then be ready to play all night!

Thanks fore the reply, I bought mine 21 July 2011 (redeemed code within a day) so fingers crossed for the 15th ;)

SWTOR site sais: You registered your Pre-Order code on 07.21.2011 and now are registered for the following items:

eeeeh

26th July for me, pre-ordered instantly a CE edition but Game took a week to send the code, still confident of 5 days though tbh

Keep refreshing - announcement/faq about it due this week :)

People also assume it's staggered by day, could be time as well... maybe 3 tranches on the 15th for example.

I am less worried about that day but more the time... will they do GMT and CST times or just CST - in which case it might not be to late afternoon/early evening on the 15th!

If it was 00:00 CST on the 15th, that'll be what? 6am here, the pains of getting up then, creating chars to reserve names...THEN GOING TO WORK!! :(

Gonna book one day off work, as I have some spare to take, thinking as my gf's Dad is over on the 16th-18th and I'm out the night of the 17th anyways, it might be an idea to take thursday off, then get a little play in early froday evening, then nothing saturday, and on again sunday!

Some stores are doing the midnight launch thing in the US but there hasn't been any big thing about it like there was BF3. Probably end up with a 10amCST / 4pm GMT ish launch which is a bit of a bugger.

No matter how they manage it someone will complain. If they let the majority of people in on day one of staggered access, you'll get the 'elite' fans who preordered on the 21st of July moaning they deserve to be treated favourably over anyone else who wasn't sat refreshing their website that day (people with lives outside the internet ;)).

Personally I'm hoping they do let everyone in on the 15th just so I can see that...

I have had early access to many mmo's, and most have had problems from the amount of people trying to jump on all at once to start their game. Bioware seem to have the right idea with staggering the load, it makes much more sense than everyone trying to get on in one go.

That depends entirely on their servers though, it varies from game to game.

They are still advertising as such which means purchase date is likely irrelevant as the selection will be random. I think most people (if not everyone) who pre-purchased will be playing on the 15th, once the whinging starts.

lmao really you actually think this no joke ... some people are so ...

Tell you what m8 I have a cheap bridge in London for sale.
They still haven't said that for sure, the wording around it has been very dodgy. I've read it all.

On the 15th, they will most likely decide to just let everyone in. The servers can handle it after all, so what good reason do they have to upset a load of people? None.

No they have said it somewhere not out-right and plain but they did say that it depends when you get in based on when you redeem your code.

ahh I see Nick found the actual quote, people that have bought in the last 10 days I would almost bet my house get only 1 day. ...and no amount of whining will change that they way to scared of having major issue with 2 many in at one time to ever cave.

It's not damage reduction, it's damage DEALT reduction.

All it's giving you is 90 Force and Tech Power.

No 50% shield?

 <---- not happy

Bah, all I have to look forward to then is this!

Tbh, looking at all this stuff, a fight between a fully kitted out L50 vs L50 with stacks of endgame gear could take forever assuming no failplay.

I'm inclined to think the same, or if not all on the 15th perhaps just split between the 15th and 16th. I only experienced two server wide lag spikes for a few seconds each during that whole big weekend stress test and i played a lot during that time. Other than that it was smooth sailing all the way through.

never but you keep fooling yourself :)

I've got the time off fortunately so when they announce times i shall plan sleep accordingly :D

They have categorically stated that your early access start date IS dependant on when you registered your pre-order code; i am at work so can't access the link - but Stephen Reid has confirmed it.

HOWEVER - they have not stated anything further to that, for all we know anyone pre-ordered prior to October could get 5 days, or maybe its whoever preordered before August... or maybe the first 1million pre-orders... thats the unknown - but it is fact that the amount of days you get will be dependant on when you registered the code to your swtor account
