A Bridge Between the Old and New X Universe
X³: Albion Prelude plays in a time between the old and the new X Universe. It shows a universe in flux, and prepares players for things to come. The old X Universe is passing; a new X Universe is about to be created.

War!
The X universe is undergoing a period of massive change. What started as a conflict of interest between the Earth and the races of the X Universe has now escalated into a full scale war. Play a part in a war scenario bigger than anything the X Universe has ever seen before!

Corporations Compete for Control of the Future
With the war as a backdrop, corporations are vying for power and are driving the X Universe in a new direction. A technological breakthrough will soon allow massive accelerators, forming highways in space and allowing the economy to expand on an unprecedented scale. Highways, a key feature of X Rebirth, are not yet ready, but you can see them being built and participate in the power struggles around the construction of much larger self sustaining economies.

What I can make of the plot: A big impressive structure gets destroyed in a terrorist attack, and they respond by attacking everyone and everything.

I think this might be an allegory for something...

Yep its more or less a exp pack to introduce the new player ship of x rebirth and a mini story to tell how the universe in x rebirth has come about.

Looking forward to it, hopefully it brings some nice improvements over TC and with the new missions keep me entertained till X-R. Guess I will be updating my mods again :)

Interesting, i've seen a bit of the new game and it looks like it could be quite good, though this one will be more of the same i suspect, i just hope rebirth will offer a lot more than new ships and factory designs, they need to add a lot more interesting content this time around, previous ones were always a bit lacking once you'd done it all in the ones before.

So is this only free to people who bought the super box but not to those of us who bought all the games individually around release?

Seems a bit unfair considering more loyal fans supported the game all these years probably making them more money in the long run than this super box of thiers. :/

it seems its free to superbox but there is a discount if u have x3 tc.

it has updated graphics for high end pc users.

You can register your games on their forums so i think they should give it free to those who enter all their cd keys since x2, im not really interested in buying this even at discount, i might get the new one though if it adds a lot more depth to game play over past games, im not interested in wasting so much time on another rehash, every other release feels like more of the same and the whole series has gotten stale tbh, this one really needs to add something new and a lot of it.
