Graphics card up to £240

I'd steer clear of the 560 448 at the moment. It's too expensive for what you get: performance wise it sits perfectly in between the 570 and 560ti, yet costs £50-60 more than a 560ti and only £20-30 less than a 570. You may as well throw in the extra and get a 570. If the 560 448 was around £200 it'd be perfect.

If I had some money (and I sincerely wish I did) I'd plump on either a 570 or a 6950.

Going by prices here, the difference between the MSI 560TI 2GB and the MSI 560TI 448 is only £10, haven't seen any where that has the 2GB much cheaper either :/

It really should be priced around £180-200 and not any higher, ideally the 560TI 448 should be around £210-220.

I would still take a 560TI 448 over the 6950 any day though (I wouldn't bother with flashing to a 6970 as knowing my luck the thing would break then :p)

And noise, temps, power draw and size are very important stuff for me personally so that is why the 560TI and 560TI 448 are kind of the perfect cards for me.

Asus GTX 570 DCII.

It is superior to the 560Ti. Pay zero attention to the graphs/threads that have been referred to here purporting to show that 2Gb is "220%" faster or whatever. Seriously. Try 0% faster in all real-world situations.

ok went for the Asus GTX 570 DCII. Read of some issues that the 448s can have so put me off...

Good choice! The card is massive! But performs really well and keeps it super cool. Never seen mine go over 70 at the current overclock.

I apologise about the little disagreement I've had in your thread. I'll move on from that now.

Wouldn't it be a safer bet with 2GB?. I think you should go through countless reviews of cards with less than 2GB of memory and see if the limitations you see through the games you'll be playing and then decide if that extra money is worth it?. Most likely the reviewers will be benching 2GB cards alongside the 1GB+ cards so should make it easier to compare.

Good luck :).

It's ok JD. I did exactly what you said...benches of 2gb vs 1gb+. :)

Good luck with your card mate :). I didn't buy my 6950 for the 2GB just so you know. I just wanted an upgrade to my aging 4870 last year. Also because I could flash the BIOS on to it and unlock the shaders gave me the excuse to fiddle.

What card are you using now if you don't mind me asking?. I'm nosey as to find out the jump you are making :). The jump from the 4870 up to the 6950 @ 950/1500 clocks was pretty decent for me.

ok the card I use is the nvidia 260-216, this card is for a mate but have tried it and i like the tesselation effects of dx11 in Crysis 2. :D

Wait for the next gen?

But the 6950 or 570 would be my choice.

The following coolers are really good:
EVGA DS
MSI TFII or III
Gigabyte Windforce 3X
