Im looking for a lens for Christmas and Im torn between a portrait type lens (Nikon Nikkor Telephoto lens - 85 mm - F/1.8) a wide angle lens (Tamron
SP 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 DI II Nikon-f) and a zoom lens (Sigma
50-200mm f/4-5.6 DC OS HSM Nikon-f)

I mostly doing scenery, however I'm wanting to do portrait/light painting more and more these days.....

I have a 35mm + 18-105 currently and an old 75-300 (which I never use as its not very good quality)

any suggestions would be great thanks!!!!

Ive seen a 24-70mm f2.8 tokina lens Im liking it for an everyday lens just for its super aperture !!! and from my quick googlings it sounds good for the price any ideas

Why the tamron? if you dont mind me asking.
Get a second hand Nikon 55-200 VR for like £100-£120. Great telephoto lens, really sharp.

That's always the hardest thing I find when choosing your next lens. It's when you've got 2 or 3 completely different types of lenses you want. :D Good luck though.

Out of the lenses you've got you say you dont really use your zoom lens (75 - 300) that much as its poor quality. If you bought the 50 - 200 would you use that more? From the type of photography you list above is there much call for a longer zoom lens over what you've got already (18 - 105) or would you prioritize a wide angle / specific portrait lens over the zoom.

Id certainly prioritize the wide angle / portrait over the zoom lens 105 does me just fine and in those rare cases that I need my zoom it does the job but obviously just not as spectacular, I dunno if Id use the zoom more tbh

what did make me think before was Alpherah suggested "Nikon 55-200 VR for like £100-£120. " and I thought of getting a second hand 50mm prime lens as well so that would be just over the £200 mark ?? and having a better zoom lens might be more worth while?
