5 months later.....

Still a long way to go, with Thursday & Sunday football the Manchester clubs might not find it as easy as they would have.

You mean Man City are now in an inferior cup competition and can rotate their very impressive squad even more?

Crowned as Champions during April.

Going out of CL will only be a boost to both squad's league campaigns.

True, the european schedule has so far seen both teams suffer all the way down in..... oh wait, top 2.

Euro football hasn't hurt Utd at all...... its the crap football they've been playing, how a team playing so really insanely bad is 2nd, albeit by the skin of their teeth, is just a show of how embarrassing our league has become. Chelsea suck, have a calamity playing in defence, keep starting a striker who can't score, and put Malouda on the pitch, Arsenal, are Arsenal, Liverpool spent eleventy billion on seriously average players and Utd play like utter turd and manage to be 2nd.

Anyone who thought anyone other than City this season was deluding themselves(waits for someone to provide a post of me deluding myself :p ), City are the only team in the league with a team worthy of being champions, even if they did put it together in a way that makes a bit of a mockery of sport and fair play.

City have a team with an incredible first team and between a very good and a decent player as back up for every position, and then another few more pretty decent players on top.

Utd have a crap midfield, a pathetic back up team for most of their positions. Arsenal, same, Liverpool, meh, Spurs, decent first team, some good and some sucky back up, they don't really have a single "weak" position(in their first team) and that is likely what will get them second this season.

Arsenals first team has dodgy left/right backs, severe fitness/injury issues, dodgy midfield and one striker. Utd just have some utter crap in midfield, crap left back these days, bunch of injury prone players, no one even close to good enough for their midfield pair and no real right back.

Liverpool, not terrible anywhere, just not good enough in most positions and little to no depth.

You'd have to have the IQ of Joe Cole to think they're going to seriously threaten their title ambitions chasing the Europa League.

Your confidence takes quite a knock going out this early (especially United, they would have expected to absolutely walk that group), as I said, we'll see what happens over christmas. Strange things happen in football, just look at last night.

As a Spurs fan I'm hardly one to stand in Arsenal's corner, but this is complete tosh.

Chelsea and City only finished 3 points ahead or Arsenal last season, I'd hardly call that the point at which we can say City no longer need to overcome them. Arsenal will still be a force next season as much as I hate to admit it. And I think you're being silly writing them of so easily.

If I were a Gooner though, I'd take it on the chin and play the underdog.

Yup too right. right of arsenal :)

Ferguson's always been good at not letting his side slip in to the kind of funks that Arsenal know all too well, though. It could well be that by the new year, they have only one competition left to really concern themselves with, if City knock them out of the FA Cup.

I think I said Man UTD would win the league easily, they started the season like beasts and had a great pre-season and somehow fell apart, plus who would have thought City wouldn't bottle it? :p

I may have also written Newcastle off after they flogged Barton/Jose Enrique, okay so I was wrong. :o
