Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Aye, just take it back and don't be afraid to be a bit pushy. Just make a suggestion that if they have another one in stock that you'd be happy to take that one home/leave the defect one behind.
With a bit of luck you'll be taking a good one home straight away if not.. then the waiting game begins.

for god sake, ok thanks mate :( if i take it out at the reception they'll be able to see instantly what i'm on about!! best get me coat then, lucky me it's my day off. Oh on a slightly positive note the picture on the rest of the screen was sublime lol

Seems like a right lottery to get a good one of these. I think I'd pay the premium for the Dell u27. Even though these Hazro's have the potential to be amazing I've read too many stories of bad QC and customer service to be confident in getting a faultless one. Shame.

it's so frickin annoying mate. Like i said the actual picture without this defact is absolutely sublime, jaw dropping even. Really is as good as the 27" mac display. Why can't hazro just do something about their quality control :/ This one i've ended up with for instance, how the hell it's made it through their checks. Such a gamble

The Dell has a ****** AG-coating that in my eyes rules it out as an alternative. It's not impossible to remove the coating.. but doing so is a lot more risky than simply ordering a Hazro ;)
But yeah I'd imagine that if they bump the price by £20 that it's more than enough income to get quality control on a level that would half the size of this thread.

[edit]Not like the OC UK price would neccesarly change to reflect the price change.. I mean they charged £350 for them during a weekend special a while back and a few days ago it was £479.99? There is no other piece of hardware that fluctuates that much (well, RAM does sometimes.. and HDD's are sold at redicilious rates at the moment due to the flood in Thailand)[/edit]

well guys i can't fault overclockers customer service one single bit. Took the monitor back this afternoon, had a half hour wait whilst the technicians checked it over but was given a direct replacement straight away, very happy indeed :) Fingers crossed when i set this one up later it's a good one :)

It's not just here where the prices fluctuates like they do on these monitors. I personally think it's because Hazro simply don't supply as many monitors as say LG, Dell, etc so retailers can raise the prices when there's a lot of demand but not much stock. IMO it's exactly like what's happening with hard drives, but just on a much smaller scale :)

Their own prices are fairly stable tbh, the £479.99 a few days ago struck me as pure madness. Compared to other monitors and what it offers for the price that was simply asking too much.

Ok, so I just purchased this Hazro WZ27WD off of Ebay. Got lucky as there are only two very small dead pixels which can only be seen with a full red or green screen and the uniformity of the display is good except for a small section in the upper left near the bezel, midway between the center of the display an the left of the display.

Now, I have a 5870 Eyefinity 6 2GB gpu which has ONLY mini dp outputs. I connected the mini dp to DVI dual link cable and I am only able to get a resolution of 1920 x 1200. I had never known that would be a limitation before as I had a 23" 1080p display before this. I checked online and apparently I would need an active mini dp to dual link DVI adapter as such:

http://www.amazon.com/Accell-B087B-...MREG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318381795&sr=8-1

to get 2560 x 1440 resolution. However, as you can see if you click on the link, the price is ridiculous. Thus, I am wondering if the mini dp to dp cables would supply a 2560 x 1440 resolution at a much lower cost?

Yes - it is a straightforward conversion between mini DP and DP and you will retain full bandwidth, quality and featureset advantages. :p

Yep that would work just fine, if the smaller mini-displayport -> regular sized displayports are cheaper that could be an option as well (the WD should come with a displayport cable).

btw both mentioning that big auctioning site and the link are in conflict with the very very restrictive forum rules. So might want to edit that as I think they do not like those too much.
According to the forum rules even a link to Hazro or Dell or any other manafacturer that sells directly wouldn't be allowed either but luckily that doesn't seem to get enforced. Would make it awfully hard to link to the official specs.

For anyone ordering outside the UK i found there is a german website (mediafrost) that now sells hazros aswell (Hazro directly gave me their link).
I got my last one from them because OCUK prices are insane these days.
They also have the WC glassless version and if i understood correctly (all in german, most of the site is also in english.. but not all. They are swift to reply via email tho) you can also buy a "pixel warraty", i think they test it before sending it to control that it has no dead pixels.

Ordering an Hazro outside the UK it's really risking it, it was ok form me with 2 monitors, but third was damaged during the shipment (shattered glass). I had to pay for the RMA return (and it costs a lot) and since i was outside the UK they only refund, not replace (and i was ****ed because meanwhile price got up another 100GBP)

I'm happy with the monitors now (even if i have to fully test them yet), i might have 1 dead/stuck pixel in one of them but you can see it only if you stand like 2cm from the screen... normal distance it's impossible to see.
Glass version makes them harder to see due to the glass "light bending" .

Yep, I recently paid that for the WD model so it's absolute madness if anyone pays it for the WC one! :)
There's a £210 difference, hardly small.

Not to mention there are a number of people who just want a monitor, not loads of scaled inputs with high levels of input lag.

Hmm, I'm conflicted over what to do now. I thought my panel was perfect, but it isn't. There are no dead/bright pixels or backlight bleed but there are 3 'bright spots' which are the size of several pixels. Unlike defective pixels they are visible from quite a distance (1m or so).

They change colour correctly and don't appear on dark screens, but are extremely noticable when lighter colours (esp. white) are displayed. Considering I work with text an awful lot it isn't fun. See here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/339/1041694copy.jpg/ (Camera hasn't caught two of them very well).

Should I try and RMA it for a refund or just DSR it? I'm not sure I want to risk a replacement considering it could be even worse... Hmm indeed.

Hi, I'm from Italy, Hazro site is always out of stock for WD, so that the only thing is to order from the german site that you reported.
Price is 650€ for WD plus postage.... funny thing the price is higher than DELL U2711 (554€)!
