Best way to send signal from lunge to bedroom?

I am looking for the best way to run a HDMI signal to the bedroom.

The distance is probably between 10-12 metres which means the cable will run up into the loft and down into the bedroom.

I currently have a HTPC connected to the TV in the lounge which has xbmc controlled by my android phone - I would like to have the same image replicated so I am able to watch films/tv shows in the bedroom.

I also have Sky in the lounge which I would also like to run to the bedroom.

The HTPC part seems simple and I would run the signal over cat5 via

but imcorporating the sky is where it gets confusing??

any help is appreciated....thanks

This is the kit I ordered to link my Sky HD to my TV upstairs.

Splitter + 1m HDMI Lead - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Neet%C2%AE-S...2368912&sr=8-1 (£36.90)

20m HDMI - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cable-Tex-Ca...2369104&sr=1-1 (£32.99)

Remote Control Extender - http://www.amazon.co.uk/PowerMid-XL-...369160&sr=1-10 (£20.95)

Sky HD 1tb Remote Control - Ebay (£18.50)

But depends of if you have exiting CAT5 cable in place to make use of. I did but decided to run an HDMI along side it anyway as wasn't convinced the CAT 5 solution would be problem free. The only thing is you are wanting 2 sources sent upstairs so a different splitter may be needed.

This is the thread I started a while ago while looking into it. http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18302210

I would if you have the room for 2 cables, don't forget to work out where the extender will be, I didn't and it ended up not being in the best place, ie. visible on a wall etc..

Thanks for your help, I think running two HDMI cables side by side with the splitters is the best option.

Thanks for your help :)

No probs, the only other option is to try and see if you can get a splitter which is 2 in & 2 out rather than 1 in & 2 out.

Not even sure if they exist

I have the Neet 1->2, it works perfectly

(I use it to duplicate our lounge Sky HD feed into the amp, RX-V3067 to overcome a limitation to show Sky Feed whilst Sonos supplies sound through COAX)

Look at the reviews, if they look good go for it and save a bit of money, I went with the NEET as it was well proven to work well with Sky HD etc. and it does work perfectly, not touched it since installation.

Yeah sometimes it's better to pay a bit more but atleast you know its reccomended and proven, how far along is the extender in the cable you posted? I would look for a white cable so it didnt stand out against the wall.

Thanks - seems like it's the one to go for.

When you say how far along I assume you mean how long is the cable between the input and the splitter box?

Its actually not that long, I am at work so from memory i'd say it was about 10 - 12 inches. Mine dangles down the back of the tv stand behind the sky box, not really an issue for me though.

XBMC will be controlled by an androip app but will need to sort out something for the sky, the remote sender you posted above will do the job nicely.
