New computer under 650£

with the cmdouble code it comes to £700, over budget but then its due to the hard disk prices. do you happen to have any old sata hard disks you could reuse?

Sadly, I do not have one. It's a little bit over my budget, I can take it into consideration, if I get my hands on some more cash.

you've got 2 main options to bring my spec into your budget:

1) knock the CPU down to i2120 and keep the graphics card
2) knock the graphics down to the 6870 lemmin suggested and keep the i2500k

the main problem with mickyfinns spec is the hard disk will be back upto £90 or so as the £65 was a special deal as already mentioned.

I'd take Option 1 as you can get a 2500k in a year or so as games like BF3 are more GPU dependent.

Right, so I just found out I can have a few lend from my friend. I can stretch it out further more to 700ish. Did you pick out the parts individually or is the system that you mentioned in the main website, if so would you please link me to it?

You will have to pick out the parts yourself, which way are you going ? hopefully 2500k route.

You can get £20 off the total with the Cooler Master case and PSU offer linked in previous replies.

If you can stretch £20 you could get the GTX 560TI 2048MB but except for some scenarios in BF3 I'm not convinced of the advantage it has over the normal 1GB version at 1080p resolution.

The Z68 motherboard will allow you to drop in a i5-2500K or one of the new Ivybridge CPUs out sometime Q2 2012 and overclock it with the addition of aftermarket cooling. But the i3-2120 specced is no slouch and will easily run the games you want.
