Are rapists normal humans just uncivilised?

As SPW said, it is difficult to ascertain the sole motivation for Rape, but we should not rule out Sex being the only one in some cases...however rare that may be.

Why bother putting yourself at risk of being arrested and doing jail time, if you want sex why not just go to a prostitute? although you could also end up being arrested, at least she's consenting to it

I think you may be ascribing too rational a motivation for rape, it's not necessarily something that is perpetrated on the basis of a "regular" risk/benefit analysis or that the rapist considers in a normal way, it may stem from an impulsive behavioural problem.

I don't mean to thread hi-jack, my father-in-law has OCD, he spends ages washing his hands - my rational mind says, if my hands are glowing red, they're probably clean lol

You implied in your original statement that sex was not the motivation for rape and that power was.

However as I said and you agree each rape case is different and there are times when the rape was carried out purely for the animalist sexual urges.

date rape, sleeping girl rape etc...take advantage of drunk girl...all considered rape etc..

eg..Man rapes young girl wlaking alone in park, why ? he wanted power trip?

NO hes a 45 year old ugly man not had sex for years and no cute young girl look twice at him, she was a hot 16 year old girl, alone and in vulnerbale position...that was a sexual urge.

impulsive, oportunistic and situational. I guess. NOt planned...though maybe some rapes are planned. like date rapes.

Spike the drink, get girl, rape her whislt shes intoxicated etc..
