Hi All...I have a new Dell XPS L702x Laptop with 3D Screen/Nvidia 3D card & built in emitter etc with a Blu Ray Burner/player I am wondering if it is possible to plug a bigger 120hz 3D monitor into the Laptop and play 3D & Blu Ray films using the Laptop player ? any views thanks

I think you can. I remember watching a video a few days ago about someone using a feature on the XPS called Wi-Di (You need an adapter which plugs into the monitor to use it though).

From the looks of it Wi-Di (wireless display) allowed the user to output his laptop screen onto his tv.

Although I'm guessing the much cheaper option would be to use the hdmi port on the back of the laptop and see if that works. :)

Maybe you could buy the 3D glasses emitter kit and disable the built in emitter then it'll work easy with an external monitor or if you can still have the laptop's built in emitter visible to the glasses when using the external monitor it'll work fine?

Also with the 3D L702x the internal GPU is disabled permanently (only the GT555M is active) and it's the internal GPU which handles Wi-Di so it won't be possible to use Wi-Di on the 3D L702x?

Yeah will be no problems with HDMI to a TV and you could have the laptop to the side of the TV while still having the emitter visible to the glasses from where you are sitting and it should be fine.

Also I read somewhere the 3D TV or external 3D monitor should be set to 720p for 3D games but 1080p for Blue-ray 3D etc is fine?
