Zalman Enters Graphics Card Business, Starts Selling AMD Radeon gpu's.

'Korean company Zalman, known more for its innovative PC air cooling solutions, PSUs, and cases, entered the graphics card business. The company is now an AMD Radeon add-in board (AIB) partner, and started its lineup off with some upper-mainstream models. It makes perfect sense for Zalman to enter this business, as it holds some expertise with high-end graphics card cooling solutions. Zalman can source PCBs from any of the major foundries such as PC Partner, Hightech Information Systems, or TUL, and assemble its coolers on top of them. Zalman's first three graphics cards are based on Radeon HD 6870, HD 6850, and HD 6770, with AMD reference clock speeds. What markets Zalman will target its new graphics card lineup with, is not known.'

Wonder if we will see VF3000(and any new ones) coolers slapped on the high end gpu's like Zotac does with Nvidia high end cards.

I like Zalman coolers. They do a good job at a great price.

The cards will be the reference board (stock PCB) with a custom cooler on it.

Nothing in the way of custom circuit board designs or anything like that, just a normal standard card with a better cooler. Bit like adding an aftermarket cooler to a normal card.

Should be interesting to see how they cope with the heat!

Plus they looks like rebranded HIS cards to me!

I know. But even the HIS cards looks nice.

I cannot wait to see how these run under a load with some hefty overclocks on them. I am getting a 6870 early next year, so with a newer 6870 on the seen with a nicer cooler, I want to see which card would be best for me in terms of cooling xD

My last card was an HIS, and considering it was a rather toasty gpu in design, it actually ran nice and cool. Plus, I kept it clean which always helps. :D

The only HIS cards I like are the HUGE IceQ's with the big heat pipes and the massive fan at the end of them i.e http://bit.ly/vh4Z9U

I would get this one as it runs as cool as he arctic circle, but it's size may put me off it as I am upgrading to a Bit Fenix Shinboi in the next week or so. May look cluttered in the case

I think those cards HIS Ice Q cards look quite nice, and should run very quiet with such an efficient cooler.

I remember my old HIS, if she'd handled AA a little better I'd still be using her now (can't believe I'm getting sentimental about a piece of plastic and silicon.) :D

Lol. The cooler on my card does the job but I cannot overclock too well. My HD5770 is fine on 900/1350 rather than the stock 850/1200 and it handles the temps ok.

I wanted the HIS version of the hd5770 (iceq) but couldn't afford it. Wish I saved a little more now mind. Extra £12 for the better cooler!

Fantastic news to be honest!

Zalman fans have notoriously fantastic performance and if this translates to their version of retail cards then it becomes a very attractive product :)

It's possible that Zalman were designing the custom coolers for His all along, we will probably never know though.

I think it's more likely to be Arctic Cooling that designed the coolers as HIS has been using their kit since the 9800pro days. I used to like them back then but I find them a bit garish these days. Nothing I hate more than over-stylized GPU coolers, I can't believe that Asus (maybe Sapphire) made one that looked like a F1 racing car.

Zalman usually do RMA in the UK through a competitor known for it's cooler and fan products.

Would be good to have another brand as well as Gigabyte for UK RMA of AMD Graphics cards.
