But will i be at a significant disadvantage knowing nothing? I mean wtf is a jedi counciller

A spellcaster or stealth melee class.

There is an identical class on the enemy side called a Sith Inquisitor with the skills given different names to suit it.

You need to know nothing whatsoever about Star Wars.

You start as a nub on a home planet, you get given nub quests which get you used to the controls without much danger.

Then you get moved on to a higher level area and you unlock more skills and learn more controls...

Of course it's nice to know some background to the Star Wars fancy dress everyone is in but none of that gives you any advantage.

Genuinely didn't realise this was so close to release - been preoccupied with BF3 I guess! Might have to get a preorder in and get back to some MMO action!
What classes do people have their eyes on?

So what do the Species determin? Sorry about the questions, just looking forward to joining you all but I have zero clue haha, seems like a good community though. Also does anyone know when gw2 is rumoured for?

What would be suggested class/race for someone wanting to be a Range DPS? Or possible Melee DPS?

Thanks

Imperial Agent / Smuggler would be good but they use a cover mechanic (well the sniper / gunslinger Advance Classes do) - but I think bounty hunter or trooper might be more fun as your more mobile!

Just cosmetic - you get a species specific social ability - but no race gives any advantage over another

You think it will keep strong going like WoW?

mm I don't think so, it has every chance, but I feel they left to much on the drawing board.

MMO gamers almost never forgive a bad game, even if it turns out to be a brilliant game at the end, it depends how its viewed in the first month that makes or breaks a game these days.

Not saying it wont but I feel the Dev's kinda got lost a bit.

it was rumoured at 80 mil not so long ago and lucsarts get 35% of all profits once bioware make back the development costs

I think they will sell box-sets well into the millions, so they will cover cost quite quickly, its will they hold the players after the first month. thats the 64million (or is that billion dollar these days) question.

Well I doubt the game will die out considering they spent what, 135million on development alone.

Never was any question that the game will die out, its more about how well will it do.

Disagree - I know plenty of non-mmo players who are getting it because of Bioware and Star Wars. My housemate is addicted and it's his first mmo (he was in beta).

I think they have enough up their sleeve to keep new content coming!

Just out if curiosity, have you never watched Star Wars? You really ought to watch it if not, it is such an epic story tbh. The game is in the universe but set 5000 years prior to the events in the film so you don't have to know much about the lore etc but you're missing out not watching the films :)

Think you'll find it's 3000 years...;)
