Gunson Eezibleed

Couldn't bleed the rear brake on my bike so I made a vacuum kit from a jam jar duct tape some pipe that fits over the nipple and a Henry Hoover, worked a treat

"Daaaad! Sit in the car and press the pedal in and out when I tell you please?"

Much easier in the long run :D

I've got a sealey vacuum bleeder and a gunson easibleed kit. I'll use the gunson kit over the sealey everytime, just seems to work better. Mine was an old kit from grandad, and needed new seal on the cap, but it's worked from 70's minis and morris's to 2008 fiats, bmws.

The sealey seemed to not fit properly and was taking air inbetween the nipple and nipple cover. I have however managed to blow a master cylinder from using too much pressure with a gunson kit.

If i can i'll use the two man approach but often it's just me thats there. So the gunson comes out.

Eezibleed kits can be *very* hit and miss, but it all depends on the reservoir cap. A vacuum system would be better but you have to be careful with the reservoir.

My now-preferred method is a clear hose with a non-return valve on the end and someone to pump the brakes. Easy peasy!

I like to be even more sure of it and open/close the nipple with a spanner whilst my assistant works the brakes. No air be getting back into my system, no siree. I'm not sure I trust the one-way valve on the £2 one-man bleed kit I have. :)

That's my preferred method.
However, when the assistant isn't available it would be nice to have a means of pushing the brake pedal and keeping it pressed down, while going to the bleed nipple and doing the open/close part, and repeating as required.
I don't know what would work, a plank of wood or a Krooklok perhaps.

I used to use a plank of wood to test my brake lights etc before I realised asking someone to do it was just easier ;)

Interesting point about these kits, don't connect them to a tyre inflater fed from a large compressor.

Just saying. :(

The Gunson is overpriced junk. I bled and changed the clutch fluid on the Mille using two syringes and a length of plastic tubing. Cost was a couple of quid.

I got as far as buying one, then discovered that they don't supply a cap which fits my car.

Now I just get Vix to press the pedal for me.
