1680 X 1050?

W7

What settings and FPS could I expect, obv. 2500K OC'ed, and potentially I could get a 2GB 560ti due to price drops (?), as I won't be getting new set-up until Feb at the earliest.

Cheers.

Why 1050p only? You could go for 1080p(if your monitor supports it). Also,i would recommend a 6950 2gb cause i have heard a lot of problems with the 560Ti playing BF3(especially on the BF3 forums).

Umm no there was with the first patch however now it's pretty much spot on apart from the usual EA/DICE hitreg issues, but that isn't the card's fault. I'm playing with everything on high bar just a couple of options. I'm well chuffed with my card though I do have my 2500k at 4.7 :D

Opinions appreciated from anyone with a clue anyway.

Funny how everyone with a 560Ti AND 8gb of system ram are playing happily eh? :P

Il'd say, you would be mainly on high, with a couple of ultras, and no AA getting averages of 60-70 fps.

But honestly I havent a clue.

No 2GB will not benefit you one bit at that res (unless you intend of wacking the full AA on) or going to a res higher than 1920x1200 in the future.

As for problems with 560TIs, yes that was the case in the beta and the final game until it got patched and was more a problem with the cards being OC.

A 6870 1GB is a good and cheaper alternative and be the better card for that res, but if you do upgrade to a 1080/1200 monitor, then get a 560TI 448 edition, preferably the MSI model.

So;

Sticking to 1050 res, look at the 6870 or spend a bit more (but still less than the MSI 2GB) and get this:

Will be upgrading to a new monitor with 1080/1200 res, look at the the MSI 560TI 448.

EDIT:

However, personally I will never touch ASUS stuff due to their RMA (unless OCUK deal with it) and I would rather get the GB or the MSI 1GB OC 560TI instead, not much difference in price between them.

Hm so,coming from a 560Ti user then i guess it is Ok to run BF3 at his rig(and not just bf3)

I can definitely see a 24" monitor in the future, quite soon after my Feb upgrade

Well then get a 560TI 1GB (unless you can get the 2GB for not much more), however I personally think the MSI 560TI 448 is a better card, here are reviews of the MSI 560TI 448:

If you plan on going SLI in the future as well, then get the MSI 560TI 2GB cards.

EDIT:

As you said, the 560TI 448 and even a 560TI 2GB doesn't justify at your current res. BUT if you are going to be upgrading to a 1080/1200 then they will benefit you more.

Thanks, I can definitely see the sense in those MSI cards, they're 2GB for higher res which I will be getting, and I can buy one now and one later when needed, I'd like to try SLI for once - I already have a Corsair 850W PSU so no worries there, and will be buying this too:
