The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Lydia is so annoying! She keeps getting in the way when I'm attacking someone and I end up killing her. Happened about 3 times yesterday.

Also, I did a part of the main Thieves Guild quest with her and the started moaning at me "You're not meant to be in here!", meaning I couldn't ask her to follow me. She said "No can do" when I instructed her to go through a door. So I had to leave her.

I'm sure it would be an issue with most companions, but its pretty annoying.

How do you get married in this game?,

Literally done two playthought & not come across how to do it?.

Concentrating on becoming thanes of the towns now, also is there any way to become a jarl?

Pretty much all the reasons I never use companions. At least with a Flame Atronach it doesn't care if I Fireball the enemy its stood next to. And if I kill a Reanimated Corpse, well I've just created a fresh new one.

Ran into 3 Thalmor Justicars last night. Couldn't resist telling them I believed in Talos so they attacked me. Chain Lightning took care of them very swiftly :p

Wards are really powerful against Dragons. All I have to do is hold up Lesser Ward whenever it lands to breath fire/ice on me and it deflects all the damage. But against regular NPCs... bit awkward. Easier to just dodge non-lightning attacks and anyone using Lightning, stunlock them with a dual cast Firebolt.

Yeah I like Flame Atronachs mainly because they're ranged and are pretty accurate!

I need to learn some more conjuration spells, the Sanguine Rose which summons Dremora is pretty awesome, deal plenty of damage and good cannon fodder!

You need to purchase an Amulet of Mara from the priest in the Temple of Mara in Riften. Then talk to a suitable npc with the amulet equipped and a dialog option (i think its 'interested in me, are you?') appears. Select that and go from there.....

Ahh, cool - thanks for the info.

Does marriage have many benefits?, can you get married a few times?, where does your wife stay (if you own multiple homes)? & does it make much difference who you marry?.

Sorry for the barrage of questions lol, restricted internet at work - this forum is the only thing that seems to work hehe.

I need to check the Conjuration Master in the College again I guess, see if she has any Adept spells yet. Doubt I'll use it much in proper combat though till I get Adept Mastery since it'll cost too much.

Anyone else find the Destruction Runes a bit poor? They cost the same as Expert level spells and thanks to the Augmented boosts not working on them, do the same damage as Adept spells. Only time they're really worth casting is when you can place them and lure someone back to it after you've regened.

Going by the wiki I think 1 of the benefits of marriage is you can get a Lovers Comfort bonus of 15% faster skill progression in place of the usual Rested/Well Rested bonus' (5/10%) if you sleep in the same house. Think other people mentioned she'll set up a stall for a small profit of somet like 200g per day too.

Someone said about not liking the new Dark Brotherhood outfit, i agree but there is a small texture mod on Skyrim Nexus which just changes everything to black, much better.

I am going through the Dark Brotherhood quests at the moment, they are pretty good so far.

That would be me :p I'll have a look for the mod.

The first 3 contracts were very meh. I hope theres more to some of them like the ones from Oblivion, like the optional parts of not been seen or not harming bystanders. Killing a Beggar and some paranoid guy in the middle of nowhere aren't very becoming. The mine boss was funny though. Fury'd her in the middle of town and she wound up getting an arrow square in the back from a nearby guard :D

Yeah I like that and loved the quest to get it. Was rather amusing :D

I am trying to kill every target with backstab, so far i have slit all of their throats without being seen:cool: (i love the kill animations, everyone moaned about them before launch but they work really well imo).

I like having the armour black so that i can use the gauntlets(double backstab damage) with the Nightingale armour, though i do lose my matching set bonus. I occasionally use the hood for increases sneak as well because i don't need the buff on the Nightingale hood(increased illusion) but sneak is broken fr me atm as i said earlier so i actually have to decrease my sneak stat if anything:confused:

I did that too, but the downside is you then become marked for execution and they have a nasty habit of popping up when you least expect in the wilderness, usually when between companions or low on supplies.

On a different note, does anyone know if increasing Stamina when levelling up increases your carrying capacity? The 310 limit soon fills up and while there are spells/potions which temporarily give more strength, I'm finding I have to leave all sorts of valuables behind in caves and halls which I could otherwise make money on. It's also annoying when a faction "rewards" you with an item and you either have to drop something to make room for it, or spend an age walking to a shop where you can sell it.

Yep Stamina increases carrying capacity by 5 iirc.

Bit of a surprise but I have found a recipe to make a staff?? Just need to find a broomstick and I am all set :D

PMSL. I saw a vendor had one for sale the other day and I was like wtf?

I really hate the Thalmor. I did that missing in action quest, but it is bugged so it isn't actually possible to do it without shedding blood so you will always fail the "without bloodshed on either side" part. Even if you sneak in and don't kill anyone it fails.

I sneaked in most of the way, levelled up my sneak and then killed every last one of them on the way out :D I hate the buggers...

The Stallion Stone will increase what you can carry also. Plus look out for boots of strength or carrying.

Had a cracking 'Skyrim - suspension of reality' moment yesterday.

Waited at Windhelm to kill off Gaius Maro, the Imperial. What he was doing wandering around 10 yards in front of Jarl Stormcloak, I have no idea.

Anyway, stabbed him a bit... got into a fight, and then a bounty appeared on me.... so the Jarl, his bodyguards and soldiers all started attacking me!

I'm in the stormcloaks... honest guv! He's an imperial!... ow... ow, that battleaxe hurts... please stop hitting me... oh, im dead. :(
