Metal Gear Solid Rising VGA Trailer Leaked!

Think people are seeing differences that werent there or have investment in what they thought the game was going to be and using those formed assumptions. Just watched both back to back and theres so little information in the first to even allow you to colour the second really...

It's simple really; if the second trailer looked like the same game as the first trailer, people wouldn't be complaining. Fact is, it's clearly changed style and direction. The presentation of both trailers is completely different too.

I think thats plainly on the basis that the first trailer gave nothing useful away and people assumed 'Oh its gonna be like MGS with swords' so on watching the second, more substantial, trailer theyve noticed movement away from a premise they themselves inferred rather than it was a given...

EDIT: I dont particularly disagree with your opinion, just that this just seems more 'eye of the beholder' rather than the trailers themselves giving a factual, whole representation of the final game. a lot of this, for me, comes down to peoples original perceptions of the game rather than there being massive sweepng changes, its not like Platinum Games wouldnt have been aboard two years ago when the first trailer came out...

Indeed, differences between the two trailers aside, I think that quite a few people assumed this would pretty much be Metal Gear Solid 5, hence some of the comments which basically insinuate a dumbing down of the series which are frankly ridiculous and couldn't be any farther from the truth.

O god. Watching that makes me feel sad. Looks nothing like an 'MGS' game.

:(

That's why it isn't an MGS game. It's a spin off game.

and as such, I'll treat it as a spin off game. It looks identical to Bayonetta/Devil May Cry - not a bad thing by any means.

I'm sure it'll be fun. Looks a bit silly but that might be the intention

I was still expecting some type of similarites with MGS though. Such as being able to go it stealthy and a great story but i'm not sure this will have either.

I can see why people who like games such as ninja gaiden and bayonetta are excited but it just doesn't do anything for me and it's a shame as this may be a metal gear game that i give a miss.

I love the look of this, And I welcome anything that moves Hideo Kojima in the way of a Ninja style Hack and Slash game. He's brilliant for MGS, And I hope he injects similar into this too.
Anyone expecting this to be Metal Gears stealth based gaming, They will be disappointed. but from the beginning, it never look like it was going to be! We all knew it was going to be a Ninja Gaiden\DMC styled outing.

Add to that Hideo...Well it's a wet dream for me :p

And the stealth based MGS games are pretty much up there in my Best games ever list.

I guess if you dont like hack and slash, you wont like this. Simples. If you do, and you like MGS stylised stories, I cant see why you wouldnt. Unless you're too hung up on what its not, to enjoy what it is. But then thats just silly.

Opinion: Revengeance Will Ruin Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid helped define video games in the late '90s. Hideo Kojima's resurrection of Solid Snake on the original PlayStation was a waking moment for the industry, bringing a new sense of gameplay innovation and cinematic flair at a time when it was most needed. Yet increasingly Metal Gear Solid stands as the pinnacle of its series. The Metal Gear games have strayed from what made the original so great, and while each of them seem to capture some excellence from the past, watching the new Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance trailer proves the franchise has now irreversibly derailed.
