Hi all,

My MBP slipped off the sofa when I got up. The lid was open and the laptop was on. Now when I go to close the lid it gets to about a 30 degree angle and there is some resistance like it's hitting something. I can close it fully but it does the same thing opening, almost like it's catching on something.

I've noticed that the lid is slightly not flush with the body when closed now.

Can anyone suggest an easy fix? There's nothing noticeable. Will AppleCare cover this?

Thanks

AppleCare doesn't cover accidental damage, though there is no harm talking to them. Anecdotal evidence suggests that some accidental damage does get repaired for free but I would not count on it. At the very least you should get an idea of the cost to repair it though.

To update the thread I took it in and they had it fixed under Apple Care within 30 minutes :)

Apple are A1 at customer service. The best i have ever seen. I had to have my logic board replaced under AppleCare because the Ethernet port didn't seem to work. Could not have been more helpful. Why can't all CS departments and stores be like this?
