Hi All i,m having trouble getting a Blu ray/dvd-rw to play blu ray films on my Dell XPX L702x 3d Laptop the make is a LG 20N i have tried dvd films and they work fine does anyone have any ideas ?

Mine shows as HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CT30N in Device Manager.

What is the full model details of yours?

When I insert a Blue-ray disk it shows the name of the title in Windows Explorer (Windows key + E) and shows the size 30.7 GB.

Does yours show the name etc like mine does or is it not even recognising there is a disk in the drive when you insert a Blue-ray disk?

yeah thats the one ..i see its discontinued ..I rang Dell and they told me that the blu ray drive has to be a certain model number otherwise it won,t work the ones fitted into the Dell XPS L702x Models are specially designed to work with those laptops , how much of that is sales i don,t know , but i must say i,ve not seen many around that state these are for XPS L702 Models

Just check if it sees the disk in Windows Explorer. If it doesn't it's Blue-ray part is faulty. If the drive can't actually see Blue-ray disks it doesn't matter at all about which software you use because nothing will work.
