Installed a Gigabyte UD5 and Intel 2700K for a friend with kingston 16GB of ram.

All bought from OcUK yesterday.

The retail chips are Costa Rica.

I Have never clocked a sandy-bridge system before tbh its easy.

So, the system is Stable at 5ghz @ 1.38V temps are about 70oC (high end water-cooling)

Its passed 20 instances of lynx with ni-on all 16gb of ram used.

I will update with screen shots when I get my hands on the system again today but rest assured they are cracking cpus.

Mine is not so good, It crashing at 4.8 GHz and 1.38v :(

Any way why without an OC Turbo doesn't work.I got 3598 MHz instead 3.9 GHz???

Can u guys tell me what setting are you using?

U know if i had that chip i would not even bother waiting on IVY.1.38v hmm just perfect even if it did crash i would bet that disabling HT would sort that out.

BF3 at 5GHZ 1.38v yea now we talking! i reckon that would keep you going for a few years.

Lucky guy

I don't get why anyone would buy a high-end chip and then disable half of it just to get a afew more MHz in apps that wouldn't use all the cores. Surely if you only need 4 threads, you don't spend extra on an 8-thread processor and disable half of it?

I got 4.8 GHz@ 1.38V under air with my OEM 2700K. When I put it under chilled water (chilled to 12C so far), I was able to reduce to 1.36V stable, with temps reduced from 76C max to 51C under IBT. I have now got 5 GHz @ 1.43V, with max temp 57C (temps all taken witih HWMonitor, although I am now using both HWMonitor and CoreTemp for a while - they don't give incorrect readings at the same time!)

I will be pushing it farther for benches soon, as well as fiddling with bclk and skews, among other esoteric settings, to try and get more performance with less Vcore and/or heat).
