Deadly blasts rock Belgian city

Isn't this Belgium

*Edit*

I was making a general point, but the post I was responding to mentioned Pakistan getting invaded. Obviously Belgium is not going to invade Pakistan. If it were to happen it would most likely either be a coalition involving the US and UK, or a Western sponsored Indian invasion. I was just making clear the hypocrisy of this given the US/UK history of questionable foreign affairs. Not that I think invading a country that owns nuclear weapons would be an option in the first place.

Because the US and UK are so innocent? We've never funded any coups or sent in 'Special Advisers'?

You reap what you sow.

Strong logic, Belgian is not and has never been the US/UK

Tool post award of the day.

Unless the Pakistani government itself is involved in terrorism I hardly think anyone would invade it do you ?

Maybe someone should invade America because someone shoots up a university every so often. wow.

Anyway, bad times in Belgium. I hope its not going to carry on as it doesnt look like anyones been caught...

Huh, Pakistan is hardly a country that needs more pressure on it from terrorists attacks in other countries. Plus you think countries will just say, its ok, let your country breed terrorism.

This could be anyone but the court rumours do not bode well.

Do you think they will just invade a country based on a few terrorist attacks ? Do you realise the wider implications for doing such a thing ?

Think about it....

That's Crap news, Belgium is one of the nicest places I've ever visited & the people are absolutely fantastic.

Wow be all over the TV tonight. better remind my dad that I don't live near there..

flander news has been updated

Nordine Amrani was sentenced to 58 months in prison in 2008 after a search of his home in the rue Bonne Nouvelle in Liège discovered 9,500 weapons part, 10 complete weapons and 2,800 cannabis plants.

The assailant’s car has been found on the Place Saint-Lambert. A bomb disposal team from the Heverlee Barracks in Flemish Brabant has been called to scene.
:O 9500 parts?

The attacker was named as Nordine Amrani. He was known to police for firearms offences.

Earlier reports said at least two more men were involved, but officials said the attacker acted alone. Terrorism was not a cause, they added.

Amrani was jailed for 58 months in September 2008 for possessing firearms and drugs, media reports said.

Officials did not confirm this, but said they were aware he had spent some time in prison.

Amrani had been asked to come for an interview at a police station in connection with charges against him.

A resident of Liege, he left home with a rifle, a pistol and three grenades in a bag, prosecutors said.

So he was a career criminal.

Cheets, any further thoughts on the involvement of Islamic fundamentalists?
