B7 A4 Avant 2.0T Quattro Sline 2007

That too, infact, you'll get MMI as opposed to (the absolute best you'll get in an A4 of that era) RNS-E. If you get a 57 plate onwards A4 you might get lucky and get basic MMI, but that's incredibly rare.

I do prefer the E46 styling to the early E91 though the LCI E91 looks fine. The 325i E91 is similiar perforamce to the E46 330i, so any of those combinations would work.

AWD is 'nice' to have and if I were to get an Audi or Volvo I'd make sure it would have AWD. However, AWD is needed, maybe 2 days a year (at least for Jersey) and for that I don't think I'd want to suffer the horrible drive for the rest of the year. As others have said, the roads to Europe slopes are all gritted and kept clear rather than the reactive stance the UK has.

My problem with A6s are they tend to be automatic, deisel and too wide for Jersey back lane(fun) driving and general site access. Not to mention they're Audis as well!

I've had to stop to put on chains before. The problem is, although the roads are cleared, the weather can turn in minutes, leaving you up **** creek if you're not prepared (I was in my E46 330d at the time).

Mine's a 6 speed manual

Mine's a 2.0T FSI

I manage on tight country roads round here without issue.

Unless you are trying to enter the Smurf village, I don't think you'll have a problem.

So is the A4 you mentioned

They don't look that bad:

Mine's a 6 speed manual, Mine's a 2.0T FSI Larger heavier car with not much punt, most of the A6 examples tend to be Auto and diesel

I manage on tight country roads round here without issue. This is subjuctive, I'd be more comfortable in an A4/3 Series size

Unless you are trying to enter the Smurf village, I don't think you'll have a problem. As above, some sites are very tight and our work entrance is a real b*tch to get in and out of

So is the A4 you mentioned :confused:I just don't like the drive of Audis, however the inside is nice, I was thinking A4 as the sensible choice, which generally isn't my normal thought process :P

They don't look that bad: A6 aren't too bad I must admit, though saying that the A4 avant I'm looking at is in black with tinted windows and actually looks alright for a B7, which was kinda shocing for me :)

You can tell I'm trying to talk myself out of buying it, even though its a brilliant example of that car. Shame it isn't a bigger engine.

A4:
Length 4,586 mm (180.6 in),
Width 1,772 mm (69.8 in),

A6:
Length 4,927 mm (194.0 in)
Width 1,855 mm (73.0 in)

It's only 4" wider....

We get it, you really rate your A6 ;)

No, not really. It's most definitely dull to drive (compared to other cars of the same class), and isn't the most dynamic of designs.

It does however represent a decent value purchase at the moment, even more so now the new model is readily available.
