Want some electronic components with cheap/free shipping

I want to buy a few diodes which would total to something tiny like 8p but most online shops expect something ridiculous like £6 shipping for them, seriously how is that value for money when they could post it for the price of a second class letter or even cheaper if they've got some deal set up, crazy.

Anyway is it possible to get hold of small quantities cheaply?

I'm sure there are retail stores than would sell them. I don't think i can mention them though as they sell pc bits too.

I found one diode i need, if anyones interested it's to get the wireless module from an old 360 working with the pc so i can use wireless controllers.

Yeah, i found one, would it be possible to have a diode and resistor to drop the voltage?
