Yes the BG-E9 for my 60D, I dislike the way Canon stuff is so expensive. But meh whatchagonnado?

So to make this thread a little less about my life , I would be interested to hear what your most expensive accessory is and if you think it was worth it.

Flashes, Lens and camera bodies do not count.

I bought a cheap copy grip for my 550d and it's identical to my mates genuine one in every way, even the battery trays fit each other. Mine cost me 35 quid with 4 batteries :p

I was gonna get a cheap one but its just not worth it imo, the build quality will always be lacking and the 60D cheapos have a lot of problems with them.

not sure whats up with the title btw, didnt remember typing 'es te' lol.

My Lee Big Stopper finally turned up last week (I ordered it 9th August) - £100 on a filter

yeh thats a lot, :)

I've read over on talk photography that the cheapo battery grips can irreversibly mess with the cameras electronics in some way. Dunno how true that is though!?

My most expensive accessory apart from my Lowepro Vertex 200 is my BlackRapid RS-7 strap which cost £48. It's expensive for what it is but it is infinitely better than the traditional camera straps.

£200 on 5DII grip about 18 months ago
£350 on Various bags (I have 4 with the most expensive at £100)
£250 on 2x 580EXII flashguns each
£250 on tripod & head

so that nearly £800 on accessories, that are over £100 im glad the wife doesnt frequent the forums as she will just ask whats the value of the stuff inside.

My 5D classic grip arrived today from the bay, boxed and with two spare batteries. Used once and I believe it - it even smells new. £72.50 :D

£200 on 5Dii grip
£250 manfrotto monopod
£200 manfrotto tripod
£240 thinktank case
£120 crumpler Backpack
£60 crumpler messenger bag
£70 on a single UV filter x 3
£50 UV filter x 3
£100 on 2 canon batteries
£200 on stands and umbrellas
£500 on pocket wizards triggers and receivers

And do you include 4 fash heads? 3 x 580exii and 1 x 550ex? That's like £1200 right there.

Plus various bits like filters, Gary Fong replica diffuser, sensor cleaning stuff, straps, loads of enaloop AA batteries, over 100G of CF cards.

So true, though im in the lucky position of the mrs not overly minding me buying stuff as long as I dont tell her the cost. :) She has a vague idea but prefers not to know.

She even nagged me to get a £100 Lowepro backpack so she could put stuff in it on holidays haha.

Although not the most expensive, I'd say the Stofen Ominbounce flash diffuser I bought probably takes it. Almost £20 for a bit of plastic.

£100 on an IR filter with a 77mm thread. Lee Big Stopper is on the list of wants though. And £150 on a Thinktank Airport Antidote bag. £70 on a Lowpro bag as well. Other than that its really just the usual lens / camera / flashes :)

Gitzo 3531s tripod and Really Right Stuff BH-55 ball head

Expensive. Certainly not value for money I would say, but worth the money anyway. It is just shocking that practicly no one makes a decent tripod or head. Hopefully they last 10 or more years, then the cost per photo will be fine.

Throw in:
2x B+W CPs (67mm and 77mm).
2x B+W UV (2x77mm)
1x 67mm Hoya Pro 1D UV
4 Official Nikon batteries,3 lost, 5 off-branded repalcements
5x Lowepro lens cases
Nikon Camer bag
Lowe pro camerbag
Generic Camera backpack
Random £80 tripod and pan-tilit head (what a waste of money)
lens and sensor cleaning kit
Nikon IR remote
flash diffuser
Set of abandoned Cokin filters, various ND and ND--Grad with filter hodler, adapter rings. Can't strand the colour cast.
2x External HDs
Lightroom
32GB of memory cards

The meike (I think from memory) grip I had was just as good as the official one I had for the 7D. I'll never buy an official one again...
