Ive decided to bite the bullet and do the switch over to intel, so im gonna start off with a 2600k but im struggleing to find a motherboard.

Im looking in the range of about £150-£200 and have been eyeing up the asrock gen 3 but then noticed it doesnt have an ide connector, i know that its pretty old tech now but ive got a couple of hdds id like to continue using =p

So my question, does the asrock have ide and if not is there a better board out there for the kind of money im wanting to spend? I will be cooling with water and hope to get a pretty good oc so thats important too. Maybe sli in the future but not crucial.

thx in advance.

The Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 also has 1 IDE connector for 2 drives.

I was just looking at it here on ocuk but wasnt sure if it had it or not, You think its worth going to the fatality for the ide? maybe i should move on from ide, I just like having it there just incase + i got 2 hdds thats are still ide =p

My current mb is m3a79-t and has been great but just wont cut it.

If you want to be able to use your IDE drives then you'll need to buy one of the few motherboards that still support it.

Or you can buy a cheap IDE controller card and use it with another board if you have a preference.

Unless you're also getting/have a SATA drive then you'd need to make sure you can boot from the card.

Yeah i got 4 sata drives and 2 ide s but im thinking maybe just ditch the ide s and invest in a ssd. But at least i got a few options now.

thx for the help ;)
