1. Are there any Powerline devices that have built-in wi-fi in them? I need to extend the range of the wireless network around my dad's house. Can't seem to find one on OCUK, but I vaguely remember that they used to do them. Can anyone recommend one?

2. If the answer to 1. is yes, then: do such Powerline adapters extend and repeat your existing wi-fi network, or do they instead set up their own separate one?

3. Would I be better off just getting a repeater? And if yes, can anyone recommend one?:p

Meh, disappointed by the high prices and limited choice of the stuff. Also, I'm still unclear as to whether it extends your wifi or just sets up a separate network of its own.

So configure the AP the same as your network and the laptop or other wireless device will connect to whichever is strongest?

Get a cheap AP and powerline adaptor -> Plug cable from router in to powerline adaptor and then plug other adaptor in the area where you want wireless coverage and then plug cable from AP in to it.

Unless you want little wires as possible, but you're gonna have to pay the high price.
