bh is more efficient because the first companion can heal aswell as do a damage spec.

where as trooper doesnt get a healing companion until the 3rd one, it wouldnt suprise me if the first genuine lvl 50 is a BH

Low heals though - I think for single target healing BH/Trooper/Smuggler/IA are good - but for group healing Sorc/Sage are better.

I personally found the Sage a better healer then Merc (though only into early 20s)
 
Think of it as a HoT, your tank will be constantly regenerating health because of it.

Can be used to top off anyones bar without risking being caught with low points for burst healing/skills.

Tbh it's somewhat like the medic in TF2 :)

As a mmo noob, explain to me how pvp works.

Can you attack the other side wherether you find them or does fighting take place in designated areas?

What is the downside to losing - can you be looted?

If there are no major downsides then I would probably pick a pvp server. It doesn't interest me much now, but at least I would have the possibility of getting involved later if I change my mind.
 
Once you get out into the open worlds you can fight them almost anywhere and no, there's no pvp looting. The only negative for death in pvp is having to run back.

Hey all - while we have no definitive update on this yet (that'll come tomorrow, I hope, after our investigation concludes) I did want to point out one important thing.

There have been some suggestions of characters running around on servers in the 30-40 range today. We have the metrics here, and the highest level character as of 30 minutes ago is considerably lower level than that.

Again, we take this seriously, and we're looking to see if this is an exploit that we need to rectify - but don't let rumor and speculation run too rampant.

I am not too fussed about not being let in yet. From what I ve seen the servers are pretty unpopulated atm so hopefully buy the time I get in this should change and by the time time I get to tatooine there will be lots of pvp :)

Read a quote from Stephen Reid earlier this morning which said that there aren't even any players in their 30s yet, let alone 50.

As for how I'm getting on..... waiting patiently :)
 
Got to level 2 <- Power leveller :p

I was however also playing BF3 Kirkand expansion at the same time. SWTOR looks good and I'm looking forward to spending some time in it, only this I don't like so far is the massive, nay humongous UI, and with no scaling options that I could see it appear were stuck with it :(

Have decided to give this another go :) - had the urge to play it again this morning which is good. Maybe I was just having a bad day yesterday. Annoys me that I haven't got the time that I would like to sink into this game, but the game will be around for a long time, so there will be plenty of time to play it.

My character is called Zago and is on Frostclaw - anyone from OcUK in that server?

Luckily I have a fast connection, so shouldn't have to wait for more than an hour to install.
