Hi guys,

I'm after a sub £600 run around and have found three cars near me.

I was wondering which is better...

1993 1.2 K10 Micra - 66k

1993 1.3 Rover Metro Auto - 25k

1995 1.3 EP82 Toyota Starlet - 77k

It will be used to drive to and from work every day.

Thanks,

Shep.

I'd imagine in this price bracket, consumables will be what I'd be looking at. Slipping clutch, good set of tyres, years MOT.

would have said the Micra if it was a K11, but I would for for the starlet especially if it has a 4E-FE under the bonnet.

In a starlet of that shape it should be, Fuel Injected 75bhp DOHC unit - would certainly be the most lively of the three. And probably more reliable being a little newer and fuel injected, if my facts are right the 1.2 K10 Micra is an Electronically Controlled Carb, not something I would want to die in the winter !

You can get a cheap K11 for £600 if you shop around.

Look at then all and buy on condition. Also make sure you consider how much tax and MOT they have left.

That said a 1.3 Auto Metrot does sound particularly unappealing.

EDIT: And bare in mind you'll get much better value for money at this end of the market by going for a bigger car.
