Anyone using one of these? It's about time I got a new mouse and even though i'm really tempted to just go with the updated Razer Mamba, my eyes are always drawn back to this.

Anyone with one fancy commenting on it?

was wanting one of these for ages. read a lot of reviews. all say its a great mouse apart from changing the battery is very tight.

Got one of these a few months ago and although it felt decent enough at first, it soon started to feel a little too bulky. Also developed a rather odd bug after a while where the pointer would be frozen on startup and after exiting games, had to ctrl+alt+del to get it to respond. Ended up selling it and going back to my wired mouse.

The battery is a pretty tight fit and there's not much to grip when you're pulling it out, wasn't really a problem once I got used to doing it though.

TBH i'd avoid the wireless one, and get the 7. It just seems to be a very slow mouse.

I've got around the batter issue by removing the weights, gives you a lot more clearance.

It also gives me tendonitis in my hand :(

I have one, and it is okay. I love the design, which is by far it's greatest aspect, but as others have said it has a dodgy sensor. Basically, you need a white mouse mat, and then all problems go away. Took me a good while to figure this out too which was a pain.

if ur playing in mlg pro circuit then yes mayby u should pick a mouse based on the sensor but my god the pte is not a sensor that should be avoided. the avago sensor would be ur only other choice.

I would disagree. To a degree you are correct but really the PTE is so bad I would advise people to stay away. Also Avago is not your only other option. The new steelseries mice have pixart sensors and the differences between all the different Avago sensors and even the same sensors with different lenses is pretty striking. A bad sensor may not seem to be that important but it can be pretty annoying when you do a quick swipe and the pointer jumps all over the place or slows down or speeds up and it gets very noticeable in games especially fast paced shooters.

The issue with the PTE comes when you lift the mouse. Do it now, I bet your cursor will jump towards the bottom right of your screen.

Nope, does seem to happen when the battery is almost completely empty. I can use the mouse without it on the mat at all, just.

It would appear that for the R.A.T. 9 they must have put the filter over the lens like Logitech did with the G9 that fixed that. In that case then if the firmware is improved over the R.A.T. 7 then it should work....till the sensor breaks and you have to RMA. There are better mice.
