Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

There's been another hotfix (now up to .15) and another patch has been submitted for certification to address lag compensation (last one this year).

The hotfix includes a Juggernaut buff that stops semtex sticks from 1 hit killing them if they have enough health to survive it.
 
I hope that's a purely explosive buff I like taking them down with around one P90 clip. It could be handy though I need to prove if splitscreen testing is affected by hotfixes.

10 days or so for the patch I'd say at a guess.
 
I hope it does something to sort out my very inconsistent gameplay. Playing with Ghimph (no idea what his forum name is) last night and it was very obvious when I didn't have host. One game on Village I made all but one of the enemy team rage quit in the first 2 minutes... Next game on Resistance I really struggled to drop enemies with a whole clip. My only major issue with the game is this inconsistency (and Arkaden... and akimbo machine pistols.... and corner campers....) :P

I beleive Ghimph is finite.

Haha on arkaden I was corner camping at A as no-one would defend it, pulled off a triple kill or two :), almost got my K/D upto 1.7 from 1.1 from my first run through prestige, woop!
 
Jesus christ I've just been dumped into a lobby in MW2 where the host is from Columbia :rolleyes: Everyone was on 3 bar and it jumped to 2 bar quite frequently. I went 30-2, he went 21-19 and the game was terrible for lag spikes and quite often the host would be running on the spot for 2 seconds before he teleported 15ft forwards. It has got to be the laggiest match I've had in a longtime, he didn't leave after the game so I backed out since I really didn't want to go through all that again. I'm still gobsmacked that I was in a lobby with someone from Columbia when the rest of the lobby is from the UK and Europe and the Columbian had host...

The Juggernaut hotfix is because they have something like 500 or 1000 health (I don't know which) and semtex does nowhere near that amount of damage so it shouldn't kill them in 1 hit in the first place. Nothing has changed to their health it's just to stop semtex killing them in 1 hit, but a stick will still kill it if their health is low enough.
 
Looks like I have a couple of hours tomorrow afternoon to finish off my double XP, holiday booked to spend time witht he other half and she has to work.

Yep that's me sorry about that I appeared to be in XBL party by myself during that match I did defend & cap A few times iirc, but my main focus was B.

It was very obvious to me too I seem to get your host over compensation when you get it (that Downturn game was a shocker) and in the other matches it was ok when I could find someone if you hadn't hoovered the map first :D.

EDIT: I see it's the direct impact damage on Juggs that's been adjusted. I'll have to wait for the next patch to re-test the weapons then hotfixes don't seem to work on splitscreen.

EDIT2: Something has just ocurred to me that may just be coincidence, but are some cheeky ******s adding latency to their connections and then running the Swiss flag which is the same as the Modern Warfare Juggernaut emblem to take the ****?

That phonetically spelt EA boy from France seemed to be riding the compensation wave and I'd seen it in another match earlier too, but didn't check to see where they were from.

Yheah something doesn't seem right with some players that kid was boasting an almost 4.0kd along with a 1.6 W/L, but as you say he could out ads everyone on the map and he was running assassin (so no QD) and killstreaks so no specialist helping hand, the amusing thing was he must have had a friend he was playing with in the lobby as at the end of every round he would dashboard if his KD was under 4.0 then re-join the game.

I don't understand how anyone can maintain a 4.0KD and win games or rush as there is no way it goes hand in hand, with a rush class if you maintain at max a 2.5kdr then you are doing damn well Especially in objective team games.

'the 1 Some Say' was a fiend for getting disconnected/rejoining a lot, not sure if it was their connection or the host, I didn't get booted once (to my knowledge!) apart from towards the end.

I'll whip over an invite tonight when I see you on!

I was the host after kept getting disconnect with Fango as the host. I don't know what was going on though as previous to joining the party I was in private chat and then a party with him with no problems for about an hour. Only seemed to be in the party of 4 he kept getting kicked out, then again I got kicked out also at the end.

It wouldn't suprise me to know there are people who are artificially adding latency to their connections to gain an advantage. There was a link posted sometime ago saying how you could do it. It is really the perfect way to cheat at the game as while it could be detected I know how you would prove artificial latency over genuine latency problems (then again I know nearly nothing about networking lol)

Edit: Can't you 'join session in progress' from the recently played list? Either way he did seem to be doing stupidly well considering watching him run around like a loon.

Received several messages today from players on the enemy team whinging, I don't use unintended exploits, akimbo subs or snipers but people complain because I hold the correct 2 flags on a given dom map and kill them with better positioning and defense (also IMS).

I'm a camper because I don't triple cap and get shot in the back like a noob apparently.

Really enjoyed that game in Hardhat we joined about a third of the way through and our team were getting utterly smoshed. We turned it around by just shooting down their killstreaks.... why does no-one do this? :confused:

I mean... it counts towards killstreak rewards... why wouldn't you shoot everything out the sky...?

If anyones fancies a game I'll be on for a fair few hours tonight :D

I mean... it counts towards killstreak rewards... why wouldn't you shoot everything out the sky...?

Because randoms don't do anything but die when they are on the same team as you and then after giving the enemy killstreaks they don't do **** to shoot them down, but when put on the opposite team in the next game they can't wait to shoot yours down. I've come across it so many times, they will be on the opposite team shooting down everything including UAV's and then they get put on the same team as you, they go massively negative and don't do a thing about the killstreaks that they have given to the enemy :o

Does shooting down air support go towards any Pro perk? More people shot them down in Black Ops as it gave you Ghost Pro IIRC?

Also, people that run Support don't want to change classes (to a class with equipment to destroy air support) as it resets their KS.

Blind Eye / Blind Eye Pro

Enemy air support and sentries can't detect you.

Pro Ability: Faster launcher lock-on + extra bullet damage vs. enemy air support. This makes Light Machine Guns extremely effective against enemy air support.

Air support is so easy to kill with stingers as a secondary and the free kill streaks are noice! Can only imagine the other team raging when their heli or Osprey barely gets onto the map before boom! The hardest time to kill air support is on maps with tall buildings.

Yeah it was a combo of shooting everything we saw on the ground and above, but I really enjoyed double teaming the Emergency Airdrop. I did a bit more of that in Fangos party, but I'm not sure who was manning the other Stinger there on Dome. I forget if there were others.
 
More people need to run UAV/CUAV in this. I seem to be the only person who uses them :p

It's great for mercenary. Wiping out noobs :D
