Recently ive been getting up and on my pc monitro 1-2 feet away 24 inch led. For most off day, gaming, web stuff.

Then at night I have 40 inch HDTV 6-8 feet away and play ps3 or watch tv etc...

I mean I aint even going out the house much atm.

I wonder if this is bad for my eyes?

Also should i sit in dark or well lit room?

Dark is nicer but owrse for eyes?

Natural light is the best and at night have your light on. Dim it down a bit as well.

You are suppose to take 15 minute breaks from a screen every hour.

Another tip is to keep the brightness on the monitor low if you are using it in the dark.

Not only bad for your eyes, for your health in general, why don't you get a job and do something constructive with your life? being a hermit is not the way forward, and quite frankly a sad and dull life.

Gaming all day jesus lol. I have to spend time at the PC so I can post a fair bit but I could not sit indoors not working and gaming all day. My gaming time starts when kids goto bed, so I can get a couple of hours in each night if I really wanted to.

Exactly.

Some of us not blessed with being able to game all day, (not that I would) I have other responsibilities that take priority in my life, such as earning a living to support my 4 month old son and fiancée, whilst keeping my house and paying bills.

Some people don't have a clue and live in their own little world, I don't understand how one could sit and game all day, it would seriously warp my head and send me into a weird state of mind, surely it's damaging to the mind and brain as well.

Don't get me wrong I do like gaming, as I'm sure most people on this forum does, but there is a time and a place for it, at least there is in my life.

It affects your mental health as well. Studies have shown that people who do spend all day gaming start to lack social skills. You'll start to lose the friends you already have and you would have lost the skills required to make new ones.

Complete bull.

I lacked these skills before I started gaming :(

Thats the same thing as saying playing video games turns people into violent psychopaths.

I work in IT and spend personal time at PCs too and I've got short sighed over the years. Can't prove it's the PC screen, and I'm also diabetic but I honestly think it's at least partially due to looking at a monitor 2 feet away that's damaged my vision

I've used PC's for extremely long periods of near continuous use although not so much anymore, and at night I sit with just the monitor on for light in the office...

not blind yet! eyes are fine and I've been using computers for nearly 20 years.
