Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

I think something is wrong with my browser, i only get like 10 populated servers in Europe :confused: would it have anything to do with not having back to karkand?

The only defence against a laser lock from Soflam, CITV tank station or Laser Painter for the Helicopter/Jet pilot is the ECM jammer which is one of the last unlocks so there are a lot of people that don't have it yet. Even then they often take flares instead which are useless against a laser lock. :D

I'd also recommend whoring the tanks to unlock the CITV station. A CITV station allows you to jump into a third seat in a tank and then you can lase Tanks, other Vehicles and even aircraft and helicopters. Combine this with a Tank Gunner that has guided shell or some Engineers that are using the javelin(or even better, both!) you can destroy helicopters really easily and lased vehicles suffer more damage from Javelin attacks too as they do a top down attack. A Standard Javelin attack is straight on, even if you 'pop up' before you fire. A single Javelin hit will destroy a helicopter and two will often destroy a tank. The jets are too fast for the guided shell to hit but Javelins can catch a jet if they're not turning too fast. Guided shell against helicopters is awesome. You see them popping Flares and you can't help but smile as the guided shell blows them to pieces!

yep been doing this all night with a sniper while waiting for viper to respawn on omen!

we would both wait at spawn he puts down soflam i boom everything that flies past was awesome think i ended up about 60-10 also had a sniper on top of hotel with soflam so when we got in heli i just guided missle everything also think i took out there scout heli with full capacity in it about 3 times :D so many multikills!

also my first go on karkand tonight and i got a 4man road kill in a tank hahah! flew accross that bridge thing and they just ran straight infront of me was so funny! loving the new maps and ill love em even more once ive learnt them all!

by far GOTY for me as ive never had a problem with this game since the day i installed it!
 
I dont mind the F35. The cannon seems much more effective against infantry and dabbing the breaks reminds me of Top Gun. "Im gunna step on the breaks and he will fly right by...." :p
 
I played some Karkand briefly last night, brought back the feeling when i played BF:BC2 Vietnam, good maps.
 
Is the server free to join or do you have to be in a ocuk platoon or something?
if so can you sign me up :) thanks.
Always play on the multiplay servers.

The VTOL makes it very interesting for ground attacks, but in the air it handles like a fat cow. It can't turn anywhere near as fast as the Flankers and I'm not sure the VTOL will help much there because it leaves you slow and vulnerable for a bit. It'll take a bit of getting used to I think.

You've got to remember how vulnerable you are when you're hovering though. I played a game on Wake last night and spawned practically underneath an enemy F35 hovering above the flag shooting people. One RPG later and the pilot wasn't very happy... :D
 
played some oman last night and it was really good. though if your on mec side (or whatever it is) aircraft are pointless so nobody was using them in the end. But its nice that the new maps at least offer some decent height to them.

the games still a massive mess, and DICE havent made this to last at all and it wont.(given that 24 hours after B2K -servers are starting to lose peps) Theyv made it to last till BC3 next year.

Still cant play B2K, Ive deff bought it but when i launch origin/battle log it asks me to buy it.

"hey you can have this game on steam but it will cost you £10"
I wouldnt be able to play right away because I would need to recover from the whiplash I suffered running to get me debit card.
 
Dice just check out the origin twitter loads of people have had the same problems supposedly they say its going to be fixed soon but that was a couple of days ago. Man i wish bf3 just ran on steam as much as i like battlelog i hate origin and even battlelog is still buggy.
 
Played a bit last night, really love the new maps. I think they play very differently then the other maps :)

Also, they should throw in much more maps and just keep polishing up the engine.
 
Question:

I have origin set to start automatically on my gaming PC and the last few times ive turned it on, it says Origin is already in use on another computer, log in anyway?

Seems a bit odd...Have i been haxored! I changed the PW and it did it again.

I assume if i contacted them online they would tell me if any nasty IPs have been on the account ?
 
It's so annoying as a helicopter pilot when you do all the hard work and end up near the bottom of the scoreboard with your gunner on about 30+ kills and a few deaths flying high at the top.
