*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

it means everything when i was planning on going a pvp server, theres already going to be lvl 50s running around ganking everyone

PvP here too, it means nothing. It's not like you'll only make 1 character and stick with that one forever. Any alts would have to face 50's when levelling.

It's a pain, but par for the course, there's always powerlevellers & their groups.

I remember Stephen saying yesterday that no-one had even hit 30 yet. I don't see how there are 50s yet unless they stayed up all night long.

Cancelled my pre-order with Amazon and picked up a copy at Gamestation this morning. Didn't realise it was going to cost £44.99 even though it says £39.99 on the gamestation site or I would have just got it from bloomin Origin.

Should make leveling just like the original EverQuest back in 1999, now that was slow and fantastic, made me even more addicted to the game - I did not want to log off! :D

All mmorpg's are too easy these days.

As much as I like to reminisce, the orignial mmorpg's we all loved would fail miserably these days - too hardcore for the masses, plus we're all looking at them with rose tinted glasses, at the time we didn't know any better ;)

It Huge !!!!

There are many that will do 2 days+ straight on an mmorpg launch. The really quick levellers tend to have a few people levelling the 1 character in shifts to get the first 50, either in the world or on a server, whatever turns them on I guess.

I see people saying it's really quick to get to L50, what do you call really quick?? I played a day on the Beta and got to L15/16 and it started to slow down a lot then. I did hear that PvP was the quickest way but then I guess you'll miss out on all the story.

It does worry me, seeing all these posts about how fast people have levelled. I think they've made it way too easy. Hopefully it slows down a lot the higher you get. Are the people levelling fast actually paying attention to the story or will it be a case of just flicking through everything really fast?

i played 4 hours last night and got to level 10 and out of the start zone.

Im playing on Lord Calypho (RP-PVP) as i do enjoy a spot of D&D as do my friends and compared to wow so far it is very refreshing.

Everyone in chat is polite and helping each other, giving advise etc. I was suprised but i guess when the population shoots up we will see if that remains.

Surely it doesnt matter how fast other people reach 50 and it only matters that it lasts a while and you personally enjoy it fella? I've played a lot since the first day of early access and am only lvl 20, but then i listen to the quests and enjoy the game as i go instead of rushing head long through it.

in most mmos of the past it took most people 2-3 weeks to be anyhere near max level.

its a joke that people are going to be level 50 before the official launch date , they may aswell not have bothered whiping beta accounts

'Most people' has very little to do with a minority of power gamers who rush to max level within days in every single MMO that releases. There is nothing that can be done about it other than for no more early access in games or if it bothers people so much then they should just go play a grinder game that takes forever to level.

They are seriously sad and power levelling of they do - if you take the game for what it is and enjoy the story and do all planet quests it'll take much longer.

If you grid PvP/Heroics/Space Missions then more fool you!

Yeah totally, each to their own, I really love the journey from 1 - max level and I can't wait to experience the story. I know there will always be those eagre to powerlevel, but it just seems so pointles in a game that has a rich story, something that most other MMOs have all lacked. I guess I just look back on games I've played in the past like UO and SWG, and think of what it was like back then when levelling. And you also made your own fun, rather than constantly running end-game content :)

But that hardly ever happens, according to all the hardcore PvPers in this thread :D

I'd consider myself a hardcore PvP'er, in that I only have any interest in PvP in games.

And I said there are far too many people about just to grief, rather than actual PvP. Remove the all please, it isn't accurate. ;)
