Charity collection bags

I get more than my fair share of these through the post, normally I have nothing to give so they go straight in the bin. This time around I had a clear out of my work shirts so decided to bag them up and leave them outside on the specified day. Still there when I got home from work at 7pm.

Another comes through the door, this happens to be from the salvation army so I thought it might make Harold Bishop happy. They were due to collect today and the bag is sitting outside still.

What is with these charities? Why put something through my door if you aren't going to collect it when you say you will. I don't want to bin the shirts so I am wondering who else will take them?

Surely if you are getting donation bags there is a charity shop vaguely near you?

Not the ones that stick the bags through the door. Air ambulance and the like.

I get 3 or 4 a week and had the same thing when I left things for collection.
They employ a load of spotty yoofs to post the bags and it's another mob that drive round and collect the stuff. It seems they don't communicate.

Many of the bags that get posted through my door are not from charities but from businesses making damn sure they look like charities.

Thankfully a Barnados charity shop has opened up within a 2 minute walk of my house so they now get all my stuff.
