The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Yeah I'm going the 1H+Shield route on my Redguard (Adrenaline Rush makes stamina regen crazy fast, could be worthwhile for a dual wielde elemental protection perk is a long way off. My block and heavy armour barely seem to be levelling at all even if I'm taking/blocking hits and smashing people in the face with my shield. Until then I was probably gonna get the sprint shout from High Hrothgar. Closing the gap to a mage instantly and smashing him in the face with my shield should even the odds for now
My first character was a redguard shield wielder. Adrenaline rush is good but becomes obsolete if you level restoration and get the stamina perk. The final perk of the shield tree is ridiculous. It doesnt just interrupt people it actually knocks them to the floor giving you 5 or6 seconds to kill them. It can hit multiple enemies as well and other than going into a sprint, it requires no stamina

Sorry if this post didnt come out well. I was really struggling to edit text on my phones browser...

shield combat is the best that i have used so far in the game, however i have gotten slightly bored of it now as it is slightly OP(though my magic resistance is still not that great). I didn't really like dual-wielding tbh, it seems a little bit clunky to me.

I don't see it as a big deal though, the same with smithing, people moaning about it being too OP and you can level it up too east etc, i don't get it, you don't have to spam iron daggers and put points in to it. You do not always have to have the most powerful armour either, I am not wearing a single bit of crafted armour.(obviously improving them is different though, but still can be done in stages)

On my next playthrough i will spread my points a lot more i think, i will probably add about half the perks in block and smithing and concentrate on sneak and probably add some to pickpocketing. I will also go heavy armour and maybe 2-handed. Also I haven't put many points in to archery. I will probably level up onehanded enough to get bakstab and then leave it too.

Yeah I'm looking forward to that perk but its a long long way off. Currently on 45 Block and I've spent most of my money training it up 10 levels. I'm playing on Expert and for the most part I'm not having much trouble but regular creatures wipe the floor with me. Can kill NPCs no problem even if I need to use the odd potion in long fights but creatures slaughter me. At 210ish armour in full Exquisite Dwarven, came across a Frost Troll on the way to High Hrothgar and it wipes the floor with me in 2-3 hits. Finally took it out by hitting it a bit, running off and letting Lydia tank it and I finished it off while she was on the ground nearly dead ><

If it's really annoying get the shout from:

Angarvunde (The Rift) or
Ancient's Ascent (Falkreath Hold)

And never worry about beasts (and trolls) again.

I was almost caught in an impossible situation, had a load of thugs come after me inside Mistvale keep right in front of the jarl. Though they were sent after me by Umid shod, the jarls bodyguard so it does sort of make sense, I dont think I stole that much from him though.

If I fought inside I risked an infraction from accidentally hitting one of the guards, if I took them outside they wipe out the entire village. I like how the guards dont bother helping at all while the villagers run eagerly onto their swords.

I knew stealing was bad idea. :(

I've had the Lerush bug as well(, its even stranger because I saw him get killed by an orc thug).

You've gotta love the serious fails the NPCs chatter comes up with.

I get the horse n cart to Winterhold. Dragon attacks the town. After we eventually kill it 1 of the guards is stood inside the dragons corpse saying 'I hear a dragon attacked Whiterun, how could mere men bring down such a beast?' ... *cough*

On a side note, it seems this character is cursed. Never had a dragon attack a town on my other 2 chars in about 35 hours worth. So far I've had it happen twice on this char and he has absolutely no ranged attack gear at all. Think its time I got him a reserve bow for Dragons...

Is it true that Wuuthrad is the best two-hand axe in the game? If so I'm disappointed as I have had this since an early level and was looking forward to finding higher level weapons as the game went on!

Well the end of the Gauldur quest was very easy and disappointing. Not to mention glitched. I got the 3rd fragment, but the quest didn't update to tell me what to do next.

Wuuthrad's stats are equal to that of a Daedric Battleaxe, but it weighs two kilos less, making it the best battleaxe in the game. However, the Daedric Battleaxe can be upgraded, Wuuthrad cannot.
So if you're a Warrior type without smithing, who only uses axes then yes it's the best. Otherwise no, it's not.

Going by the UESP, Wuuthrad has the same base damage as a Daedric Battleaxe but can't be improved at a grindstone so its probably considerably weaker if have decent levels of smithing improvements.

I had the same thing, but the guard complained about his cousin out fighting dragons whilst he was stuck on guard duty. After he got partially roasted by a blood dragon :p

Awesome, I'm now a human eater all I have to do is wear this ring and eat dead people :D, also have a companion who is also into the human flesh.

I took some of your advice and decided to play the game, it is a little slower than what I'm used to but it seems like a solid storyline. I guess all the hype I hear about it might be true.

This game is all about immersion. The first 10 hours you really do nothing. After that it gets so much better. The freedom is the best bit.

You'll love it. I'm 60 hours in already. :)

I really need to stick to 1 char, theres just so many things to try out ><

Want to try 2 handed warrior. Dagger assassin. Pickpocket/thief (this one will be epic, planning on getting the reverse pickpocket poisons and giving Brotherhood targets frenzy posions :D).
