Let me start by stating I originally thought Peterson had fairly won the fight. However, on reflection that just isn't the case.

Numerous times Peterson's went under and up with his head and on first watch, being caught up in the spectacle, I just honestly thought Khan was making a meal of it complaining and trying to use it to his advantage. However, its clear, after watching the fight again 3 more times and closely analysing each round that Peterson head butted him numerous times, however, was never deducted points. Peterson caught him numerous times with his head and was it any wonder that Khan then had to resort to pushing him away? I mean, lets face it, Khan did struggle on the inside but still if someone is leading with their head to gain and advantage you'll do whatever to avoid getting hit.

After watching the fight again I think Khan has a really strong chance of getting this overturned. Even more so with the news that a judge took 8 minutes to add the scores and then decided to change his mind and award round 7 to Peterson instead.

Im not a Khan fan either, I'm in the Mayweather camp and always will be. However, do think he was robbed, just about. The refereeing was atrocious as well and puts another bad mark on the sport.

Khan landed more punches and boxing is a scoring game so theoretically its poor refereeing that has cost him. I thought he was just being a baby like David Haye but in this instance I think he actually has a case. I wouldn't be surprised if he got this overturned. I think sometimes the British public are too hard on their own fighters. Khan isn't the best of fighters but its still not nice for him to get robbed. At least if he's going to get beat he'll get beat fair and square like he did against Prescott.

I don't think the fight was as open as the third judge had it at 115-110 in favour of Khan but I thought a 114-111 was a fair score.

Anyone else rewatched the fight and saw that he was robbed?

There's a thread for it already? :p

Anyway, ill repeat what i said there.
If Kahn has ambitions to step up and fight Manny, then this fight should have been a formality even with the points deduction.

Result shows he's not as good as he (and others) think he is.

Hi Britb0y. No, he wasn't robbed.

As a boxer, yes he was definitely robbed. Boxing is a scoring game and Khan outscored him for fun in most rounds. Peterson being the aggressor means nothing at all. Mayweather has never ever been the aggressor in his fights and does the job. I remember Hatton catching Mayweather quite a few times on the ropes but the referee, Joe Cortez, jumping in the stop Hatton. In this instance Peterson wasn't stopped, Khan was warned for defending himself by pushing which is beyond ridiculous.

Yes he was robbed, anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded and knows nothing about boxing.

This threads strikes me as 'What I initially thought would be a controversial view that I could troll the forum with a bit actually turned out to be the prevailing opinion so i'm going to swap sides and argue the other case instead by making ridiculous claims that anyone with a different opinion knows nothing about boxing'

AMIRITE?
