XF Gone, so what replaced it...

Hi there

What a truly epic motor!
That is the new 5.0 engine in that one yes, plus a supercharger, so epic performance but half decent economy as well when its not been gunned. :)

Seriously nice car, thing Jaguar with the new XF range are now a serious competitor to Audi/BMW no doubt of that. :)

Very, very nice. Also surprised at the price. I know someone who's just bought a 09' XFS 3.0D for not far off 'half of a new XFR'! I'm not sure he knew that you could get the XFR for that much as I'm sure he'd have considered it (lives in London doesn't do big miles)... however I don't think I'll mention it now :p

Everyone is saying surprised at the price, have I missed something as I can't see the OP has mentioned what he has paid?

Awesome purchase, I cant believe how these have depreciated. I see a few of them around the £30k mark now.

Hi Gibbo,

I paid under 50% of the new list price for the car, which is about the same as the 3.0 D S would have cost me

Very close to the M5 on track which is the benchmark. I preferre the sound of the Jaguar though, the looks for sure and I can imagine the Jaguar is far more comfortable on the road when just cruising and as good when you want to have some B road fun. :)

Though M5's are scary cheap now and the SMG plus 8500rpm engine would be more fun when driving at 9/10's.

Still awsome car, great buy. :)

ah you g*t, savage car, they are so cheap in the UK compared to Ireland.

That new here is €114,495 before any extras. Hate our governent and their 45% VRT tax for cars.

Holy moly on MPG though, I'm finding my 335i thirsty enough for my liking at the moment (though the Tesco petrol vouchers from Ebay help).

Have to say I'm not "overly" keen on the wheels, probably a personal preference thing and is in no way a major criticism, do Jag do different wheels?

Too much wheel for me, I'd rather have something that looked a little less "solid".

There are 2 other wheels which fit, the Draco which is this one and can be had in either silver or dark grey

or the volan which is from the SV8 and again this can be had in silver or shadow chrome.

Do like the volans but the ones on it are rather nice and have supercharged round the bolts :)

I think I prefer the Draco's ;)

On the car they to me look too spindly and a bit naff, the volans I do like but to be honest I really like the Nevis wheels on it and they are bloody huge and damn expensive so no intention of changing them.

The only thing I might do is get the front grill switched to the black version, other than that its staying as is.

Don't forget to take it to your nearest Dyno and have the BHP really worked out. My work colleague (he's 64 lol) has a white XFR and his pumps out 540 something. This was after he drove it for six months with a poor ECU that was only letting him have 400 horses. Enjoy the car, I love looking at his every morning as I have a smoke.
