Dravid made the most wonderful speech at the Sir Donald Bradman Oration. Please, I implore you to listen/read it here:

It will be a difficult decision about whether to pick Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli for the first Test. I would personally go with Sharma. Therefore, I'd have the team like this:

Sehwag, Gambhir, Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, R Sharma, Dhoni, Ashwin/Ojha, Zaheer, I Sharma, Yadav

Think 3 seamers in Aus is a given, just not sure whether Ojha or Ashwin will get picked...

Looking forward to this one but I have NO IDEA how it's going to pan out. I'm guessing it'll be either 2-1 Oz or 2-2 - I can't see India winning the first test even though Australia are all over the place at the moment, and I think they will struggle at Perth. Getting a result at Adelaide will be difficult too

I'm not too familiar with Australia pitches myself. As far as I know, there's not as much swing as England (a relief for India) but the pitches tend to offer a lot of bounce? If so, the Aussies will be looking to hand out many short balls this tour. I can't see India winning the series, after what happened in England, but Aussie batsmen don't seem to be doing too well. Maybe there's hope for India yet.

Also, it's a fact that Ponting will rape India this series :p

Perth will bounce, but it's not as quick as it used to be. Adelaide will turn, which in my mind gives India a big advantage. Sydney could also offer some turn. I wouldn't expect the ball to misbehave too much other than in Perth, where somehow Mitchel Johnson turns into a 70s/80s West Indian quickie

The first tour match is drawn, surprise surprise.

CA XI got 398/6d
India got 320/4 in reply.

Interestingly, Kohli scored 1 while Rohit Sharma score a solid 56 not out. I hope Rohit makes his test debut at the MCG.

Aussies gonna get spanked simple as that...the way they capitulated in the 2nd test against NZ shows that they are still a long way off from being where they used to be.

3-1 to India.

Going to sitting in the MCC members end on the boxing day test here in Melbourne :) just hope Sachin gets his ton.

India capitulated in about 14 innings against England, don't forget that

That sounds awesome. Make sure you take many pics and post them in this thread. Is that a down-the-ground view or side on?

Aussies batting first, interesting decision given the conditions and after last year (forget how epic that night was....). Think I'm actually leaning towards them though
