My girlfriend has just made a grievous error

I'm noting it here for future reference. She's just agreed that, inspired by both the "girl names" thread in GD today and the "If I get 100,000 fans my partner will let me name our second son Spiderman" facebook group from a while back, if I make a group on facebook and get 200,000 members, our firstborn daughter's middle name will be "Kraken". She likes the names "Isabella" and "Jenny", which will both go quite well with Kraken, I think.

Keep an eye out over the next 5 years or so for a bump to this thread.

I don't think your child's name is something you should be playing with as it will be something she will have all her life and could affect her massively if you give her a stupid name like Spiderman or Kraken.

To add to my post and probably say what your girlfriend wants to say to you, I think having a child should give you reason enough to "grow up".

It's just a middle name, I don't recall using my middle name for much in the last 30 years.

However when using this information, remember franco_22 is a bit of a... creative individual who contradicts himself, puts others down and hangs around, when it seems he really has nothing good to bring to the forum or it's members.

To add to my post and probably say what the rest of the forum wants to say to you, I think having access to the Internet should give you reason enough to "grow up".

Heh.

So, when your kid's 59 years old, and his full name is required for some reason or another, he's going to have to include 'Spiderman' in his name? I'd be highly annoyed :p Although, it'd be cool up until the age of 10.

I had some great name ideas for if we had a son, including Optimus for a middle name, however we had a girl.

I can't say that Kraken is very humorous tbh. I can see boys getting away with stupid names but not girls.

Her name, and Spiderman was some other guy. She'll have a perfectly normal forename and can choose to never put her middle name on anything if she doesn't want to, though I think that when she gets to her 20s she'll love it. If not, I haven't raised her right.

Every time he/she has a tantrum: "RELEASE THE KRAKEN"

Exactly my point! RELEASE THE KRAKEN! at every opportunity! When she has a tantrum, when she leaves the room, every opportunity - I don't think it'll ever get old :p

Ah, okay :)
Also, just thought I'd throw a random article in here about names that I remembered reading, whilst there's a topic about names.
