OcUK GTX580

I would yeah.

They're pretty much (if memory serves) Gainwards that don't clock as high.

So if you're not into overclocking then good deal. Almost got one of those myself, but got the 6970L instead as it was so much cheaper and did the same thing at that res (IE made everything playable).

Well, when I ordered the 1.5gb OcUK 580 I received the TF2 version from MSi, which I got to 1ghz on the core using the cooler that came with it

So yeah, they can be good :)

Warranty is a big factor with EVGA, afaik they offer 10 year standard warranty, which is excellent, especially when laying down nearly £500 on a card.

thats a very good point i never really thought of that but on saying that i will always want to play the latest games on high settings anyway which more or less means i would have to upgrade my card every 2 years or so anyway and the warrnty on the OcUK 580 is 2 years

Nah, they don't.

There are two different SKUs on EVGA cards. ONE of them is 10yr, the other standard 3yr.

Look very closely before ordering and make sure that specific SKU code is 10yr.

I have one mate.I went from a very old system to this card and it runs everthing I have at max and ultra for BF3.

yes im going from a qx9650 and a 8800gts to a sandybridge e and a gtx580 and i think i will go for the OcUK then i was going to go for the Asus GeForce GTX 580 DirectCU II 1536MB but i want to future proof myself a little with a bit more Vram

If you want quiet and well behaved go stock. The stock VC cooling on a 580 is more than good enough.

Ed. And it doesn't dump hot air in your case either.

@battle99

by the way how loud are they? as one of the reasons i was going for the asus was ive heard its a very quiet gpu

It can get slightly noisey under load but thats the only thing I hear, the rest of my system is silent (compared to my last comp)But tbh you dont even notice the fan noise on the card.

You don't even want to know what an Alienware Aurora full of delta fans sounds like at 100%.

When I first set it up I **** myself. It was well behaved until I installed the command center, then everything went to 100%.

as long as its quiet enough to not really hear it when its idle for when im using the pc for general purposes i dont mind if its a little noise when you are on a game i dont mind because thats what the volume button on my speakers is for :D

haha i once bought a tornado fan i think it was and i was like omg that is loud. currently i could shut my bedroom door and go to the bottom of the stairs and id still be able to hear my computer only just though

This I didn't know, I just presumed they would all come with a 10 year warranty.

ER cards are 10yrs
KR cards are 3yrs

You can extend KR cards to 10yrs for 50 euros (around £30
