5970 owners..

Get a more powerful single gpu setup. My recent cards have been a 4870X2, 5970 then the 6990, and to be honest I am tired of the horrific crossfire support (or lack there of) from AMD.

^ that.

Avoid multiple GPU setups unless you really, really have no other option (folding, Nvidia surround, enough grunt for Eyefinity with reasonably sized monitors ETC)

Their marketing page for it should be taken down as 90% of the time what it says and what actually happens, is two different things.

Nvidia's SLI graphs were hilarious.

But you're right. They don't really care about the small minority who are trying to use 2-4 GPUs of theirs, they just care about selling them to you.

The support for Nvidia surround is absolutely hideous. I have only ever found one driver that actually allowed me to set the correct resolution in the actual Nvidia control panel.

All the others? I had to force the correct res in Windows.

Go to their site though?

ZOMG NVIDIARRRRRR SURROUND AND 3D VISION SOOOOO GOOD BOSHTY

I had my pound of flesh on Nvidia's forums, trust me :D

Thanks for all your inputs. I know a lot of people suffer badly from CF but I never tend to buy games on release or even close to it, so I normally have a decent driver for when I do eventually purchase a game.

I had CF 4850's and had no problems whatsoever. Now I have a 4890 sapphire 2GB and tempted to possibly just CF that if I can find another one but getting hard to come by..

I've been chopping and changing my mind for a while, from gtx 480 to a 570, 6950, another 4890. I just can't decide! To much choice and the previous gen second hand always tempts me.

You would think that, but many times I have seen them completely remove support for a previously working game. The Witcher 2 is one that springs to mind.

Annoying that. Very annoying.

After three days of piddling about with setting up my quad sli/surround rig I ended up admitting defeat.

One driver was great for Fallout 3 (27x) but was crap for something else, 289 was great for RAGE, but crap for something else.

Major PITA.

And I read through the list of adds in the drivers "Added this and that for 5 series. Fixes this and that for 5 series".

Throughout all of the readmes I read (about twelve) nowhere did it say "improves quad sli performance" or "fixes this issue with surround".

Amazing really. Basically some poor sod went out and lashed £900 on a pair of GTX 295 and gets treated like a red headed stepchild. Yet some one pays £150 for a ti and gets first class treatment.

It's really, really ***** up. I hate to sound mean, but those who buy such products at launch really deserve everything they get. Nvidia couldn't give a rats about them, they must sit around LOLing in the financial department.

Run Battlefield 3. Then run anything else that uses hefty textures.

Crysis 2 - with the 2gb texture pack and DX11 enabled.

Then RAGE with the ultra textures unlocked.

It will be a very, very different story mate.

This, I run mine at 1200 / 950 with a water cooled setup it will handle BF3 on Ultra, 1900x1200 @ 70fps+ it is a very good card but with only 2GB Vram it struggles and drops frames to around 30 when it gets busy. I will move to Nvidia when they release new cards next year.
