The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Is Stony Creek Cave bugged? It is one of the caves way on the right hand side of the map

It not very big inside, i have killed everyone but the map is not displaying as 'Cleared' ?

There is a waterfall in there and it looks like there is stuff up there? But there is no way up there??

What is this arrow in the knee thing people keep mentioning?

Apparently the guards all over the place say it. Took me 20 hours in before a guard finally said it and since then (another 20-30 hours) I've not heard another one say it so...

Sweetrolls on the other hand they say all the bloody time.

I think some of them only give a cleared sign if you've finished a quest there or something. Not entirely sure how it works tbh.

Read through Cicero's Journals in the sanctuary. Quite funny actually. One of his contracts is to kill the Grand Champion of the arena so he poses as an adoring fan and kills him :D It basically documents the fall of the brotherhood and Cicero's descent into insanity.

That waterfall is actually an exit from a Dwemer Ruin, odd that it doesn't list as cleared though because there won't be anything up there, just a back entrance into the ruins.

There are probably more common ones(the sweetroll one maybe), but with the arrow to the knee one i think it is more that EVERY guard in the game "took an arrow to the knee":p

I heard it far too often.(it doesn't really bother me much though tbh)

Just found a random blood trail up a mountain on the outskirts of nowhere...

Which had a nasty surprise for me up the top, and this:

I was walking up a mountain and I then saw a fast shadow go across me and then a smacking noise behind me.

Turned around and there was a dead sabre tooth :p

Dead things dropping from the sky is pretty damn weird. I also fast travelled to a daedric shrine and a dragon skeleton dropped on me XD

That'll of been 1 of the treasure map chests. Only found 1 so far but it was basically just a random chest in the middle of nowhere.

Poisons are starting to become a bit more effective now. Up to 60% effectiveness on the first perk with the 25% poisons buff, Muiri's Ring and just got hold of Krosis' Mask. Only at around 43 Alchemy but getting about 40 damage on poisons and a massive amount on Lingering poisons (sod all ingredients to make it though). Paralyze lasts for over 10 seconds already. Slow poison doesn't seem to do anything though...

Quick question on heavy vs light armour. Looking at the stats it seems that heavy is much heavier and hence uses up more carrying capacity but doesn't give much greater armour rating? Have I missed something?

I am a few hours in and I am thinking of reloading a previous save and changing the focus of my character. In Morrowind and Oblivion I played sneaky Thief/Assassin characters and initially thought I would do the same in Skyrim. However, I find so far that I am playing more as a warrior so I was thinking of changing this character to a straight forward melee focused warrior and perhaps having another sneaky type later.

Heavy armour has been very unimpressive so far. You might find yourself living longer vs regular enemies but the moment a hard hitting mini-boss enemy or a higher level creature turns up your heavy armour makes no difference at all.

Its mostly down to how high they can reach. 567 armour with all 4 pieces (because they apparently give +100 hidden armour rating) is the cap for 80% damage reduction which you can reach using Light Armour with very high perks and high smithing but will take a while. Heavy Armour you can reach higher armour much faster which is where you'll start to see the difference in survivability. Plus it has the Tower of Strength perk which reduces stagger and both of them eventually get a perk that makes the armour weightless, it just takes more perks to get it for heavy armour.

Once I hit 400+ I might be a bit more impressed, but full Exquisite Orcish w/ Shield still only nets me ~250 so I might have to boost Juggernaught to 2 or 3.

any tips for someone just starting out? Just arrived at the first village, not really my type of game but everyone is raving about it :)

How random, just had a cat thief come up to me in full glass armour and hand me 500coins referring to me as nightingale, bit strange as i finished the those quests a long time ago and this is the first of this encounter

Not that im complaining if people want to give me coin then so be it :D
