So what's the score with the latest update? I've just got a Lumia 800 sim-free from P4U and it's currently on the older firmware (7.10.7740.16) and it's nearly been two weeks since the release date of December 7th! Reckon I'll be getting it soon?

Looks like there will be some more "Nokia only" stuff, The turn by turn sat nav, Nokia Music, Mix Radio and ESPN sports hub and 25Gb of Skydrive so far...
It doesnt look bad, but it reminds me of an ipod!
Mines a P4U handset, which is a simfree one. However, I am still waiting on the firmware update.

Thats the look they where going for obviously.
The colored case and the screen. I mean technically its a good move as the ipods where very popular. However that ship has sailed, 2 years ago.

Do you mean an iPod Nano, the fact that it's coloured? All coloured things are iPod clones then are they?
I think the Lumia 800/N9 is one of the most unique phone designs there has been in recent memory.

Love it how for the last 2 years HTC,LG,Samsung,Sony Ericsson and god knows who else having been producing bland black slabs of plastic that all look the same and no one bats an eyelid. Then Nokia produces something a bit different and get accused of copying Apple patented coloured rounded rectangles.

My phone has come out of the box with 1600.2479.7740.11451, that will be why I can't see an update! It must have been manufactured in the last week or two to have that already loaded.
Is yours the cyan or black model? Also is your a simfree model like mine, it should say CV UK SW variant ID222 v.02 under the more info.
It's the sim-free (unlocked) Cyan Lumia 800 from P4U - the model number is exactly the same as yours. Very strange! When did you purchase your Lumia?

My missus has just got this phone from dialaphone as an upgrade (same sw version as kona), its pretty awesome, I love how slick the interface is. Still love my sgs2 though honest!
