I just got my Pioneer 2021 swapped over for a new one, got home, tried to plug in the banana plugs that I could do with the last 2021 and then i couldn't...turned the amp around and saw these black rings in the holes. Weirdly the last 2021 didn't have these?

How do I get them out? Or can I not use banana plugs or do I need new cables now?

looks like binding posts m8, there should be an entry point for the cable at the base of the post

Yes there is, unscrew it and it comes out a little (although it does not come off) but I rather use banana plugs.

Why would the sockets differ between the same model?

My amp had the same, you should be able to make a small hook out of a paper clip or something similar and pull the black rings out, then fit banana plugs as normal.

Here's a video to show you what I mean.

im now off to change over my Yammy 667 to banana plugs, cheers m8

after battling with this on numerous AV amps

by far best way I've found is with a small wood screw

just screw into the plastic lug about 1 turn - then pull out :) -works a treat
