So it's that time of year again - my annual leave all my christmas shopping until the last second.

My brother recently bought a pre built system from overclockers, and because he bought quite a powerful system he left little money for decent periferals. The mose he has is a cheap 5 pound job. It does the job ok, but its a little cheap feeling and not that comfortable to use.

I was wondering what mouse you guys would buy within the price bracket of 30-40 pounds. I seem to remember reading razer mice are considered one of the best. Is this still the case?

Or maybe there are some other cool PC periferals within the price range you could suggest?

Thanks

Personally I can't see past the Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0 for comfort and ease of use. Love it for gaming but there are plenty flashier mice around that others will recommend.

Another for logitech here, the G500 with the free mousemat would be my choice and it's only a couple of quid over your budget.

Just checking he is not left handed?

I nearly purchased a gift from my left handed cripple brother once, had to buy a special left handed gaming mouse in the end.

I've moved this to General Hardware since it seems more appropriate. :)

The best mouse I've ever used is a Logitech G7 but since for reasons that are inexplicable to me they stopped making it years ago I'd go with the Intellimouse v3.0 also, the design has been around for years but the shape is very comfortable which is why it remains a good choice.
