Oh sweet satan, has anyone seen this yet???

Eyefinity support up to 6 monitors OR 3 DIFFERENT SIZE MONITORS!

So if I was to buy a shiny new 27" monitor, I could use my 27", 24" and 19" in eyefinity.

... Or would it work with my old IIyama diamondtron 17" monitor???

According to the date and driver version it should already be possible to do eyefinity with mixed sized monitors using current cards..

but each monitor would have to support the same res, like you would not be able to have a nice 27" in the middle runnings its highest res when you had two say 22"" either side, you would have to run all at 1680x1050 or whatever it is

Im on Nvidia cards atm though, cant find my old CRT anywhere, it must have been chucked out or put in the loft :(

I dont think it would work with a CRT though.

Oh, nvm then.

Ooo Shall have to investigate that :D been wanting a nice big centre monitor for a while but Eyefinity has been putting me off due to needed 3 of them for it to look good :p

One of the slides says the new cards supports 6 displays but I only see 4 ports on the card? O.o

Display port can support multiple displays with 1 socket.

That wouldn't make any sense, from the picture it's clear that monitors are set at different resolutions, otherwise you'd have much more pixelated image on the middle screen.

You'd still need monitors with similar pixel pitch for it to look well though.

Right - I really hope that heterogeneous resolutions is a driver thing! If so, I want to know what 'cheaper' 2 monitors go with my 2560x1600 as side monitors :D

I really don't see the big deal about gaming with 3 monitors let alone 6. I think its just for rich people who want to brag about their setup.

Even if I had the money I still wouldn't do it.

Horse apples.

Back in April I did a sponsored build and a part of that was a very cheap GTX 295.

A friend of mine bought a 460 2win and set it up on three 1600x900 22" monitors. It's hella fun, so I decided I wanted to play.

I picked up a second GTX 295 for peanuts (I won't divulge how much) and then set about finding some monitors.

Let's say that three monitors and the second 295 ran me £190.

Best £190 I have ever spent on PC gaming. Takes it to another dimension.

Once you play your games like this.

There is no turning back. It doesn't take bundles of cash, it just takes some brains, a good knowledge of maths and how to find a bargain.

I'm waiting for Samsung to continue their brilliant work to eliminate bezels.

Someone needs to pick up the ball Alienware dropped on that curved triple monitor thing they designed.

That was just amazing.
