Liverpool

And I thought Bradford was a craphole.

Yes well. A friend of mine (a red-head) went to the Alder Hey for an attachment. He and a few friends on their first night thought they'd take a walk through the local area, see where the shops are etc etc. We were in a pub in Reading at the time and one of us gets a call. It went something like this.

"JESUS ******** CHRIST **** WE'RE GETTING ****ING CHASED **** **** THEY'RE CHUCKING BRICKS"

Chucking bricks at them and screaming "****ING GINGER ****". Apparently they walked down the wrong street. Put me off going up north for the rest of my life tbh.

 Yeah, you stay down south where it's nice and safe. Nothing bad has ever happened in London or Oxford.

I dont go down south for the exact same story. :D

Good for you. I know where the bad places are in Liverpool. Your point?

Mate, the bit about never going north was tongue in cheek. I love Manchester, been up there several times with friends.

Do all northerners have a giant poker up their bum?!!

(psst that was tongue in cheek too ;))

Sorry. Given that we started this thread with people suggesting that venturing into Liverpool was certain death, it's hard to know what to make of anything.

It's Liverpool. Are you surprised?

The city in which even TV stars are tried for murder.

Brian Regan of Brookside fame, standing trial for murder. His defence?

He was too busy doing coke in the get-away car to realise what was going on.

Scum central of the UK. Ruining it for all the good Liverpudlians who are becoming increasingly outnumbered.

.

I used to work for a utilities company who had a contract to provide electrical connections for mobile cell sites in the north-west. For some reason the drug dealers in certain parts of Liverpool were convinced that these were some sort of surveillance device being installed on behest of the Police, and it was quite a regular occurrence to have the lads threatened off the job. I suppose the tools were sampling too much of their own product.

That said however, I go out round Liverpool city centre quite regularly, and not once have I had beef with anyone, but that maybe reflects the fact that I drink in the old man & real ale pubs, like the Ship & Mitre, Vernon Arms etc.

Hope the suspects they've arrested are the right people and they can put them away!

I don't live far away from Huyton, and when I had my car stolen back in May the address they left in my sat nav pointed to a house up there. Also seen my stolen bike being ridden round in Huyton a couple times on my way into work!

Also..
Oh here we go.....everyone jumps on the bandwagon because everywhere else in the country is free of crime.
This! Its no worse than most other cities!
