Currently on ITV2 - I don't think I have ever seen such an unintentionally amusing film, made even more funny by the now chronically bad CGI graphics.

That 'epic speech' death made me laugh hard for about 5 minutes, subsequently trumped by the miraculous evasive underwater procedures of the lead.

The icing on the cake is LL J Cool L JJ Cool in his chef role and the amazing outro song:

DEEP BLUE SEA.

YEAH!

What do you lot think?

I thought it was a great tongue in cheek romp of a water/shark film.

Always really enjoyed simple unassuming films.

deep rising was awesome!!!

I love all cinema where i don't have to think too hard, currently watching outlander! Go vikings and astronauts.

I remember seeing it in the cinema.

The best part of the film is still that Samuel L Jackson was billed in the trailers and marketing as one of the main actors. So when he gets offed so early, you just aren't expecting it at all!

Same. I also remember really enjoying ghost ship and deep rising.

Maybe I have a thing for big ocean structure

Deep Rising is excellent, partly because Famke Janssen is in it.........Deep Blue Sea has Saffron Burrows and LL Cool J in it, so good enough for me.

But my favourite deep sea adventure movie, and one of my favourite movies full stop is the eminently superior The Abyss......fantastic movie.

I love DBS although the sharks are terrible. In particular the "tiger" shark, which is just dreadful. Still a fun film though. However, the "sexy" Saffron Burrows undressing scene leaves me completely cold. It's like drying a bikini on a stick.

I love Deep Rising as well. Cheesy classic. Talk about a splitting headache. :)

I love DBS, when It came out I watched it twice in a row at the cinema... but then I'll watch any rubbish with sharks it...

Biggest hate of the film though was the Tiger... you see, although there is a fair bit of CGI used in the movie, they also had anamatronic sharks too... only they were mostly used for the shots of the mako (main shark seen in film), they used the same model for the Tiger which is a Big No, as neither look anything like each other!!!!
Two Species of shark with little resemblence to each other, so it was obvious they simply Painted the model with Tiger stripes to fool the audience into thinking it was a different shark! unforgivable.
